Not incompetence. Malice. Didn't she keep starting the machine over and over, or am I thinking of another situation? Either way I despise awful pieces of shit like her, causing trouble for others for no reason and then acting like it's fine if they just laugh it off. It's a very common trait in genki characters, unfortunately. Which is why they tend to be awful people that deserve to at the very least be told to cut that shit out, but they never get their just desserts.

I don't know for sure. Yuuri has been useful for nothing more than dumb muscle, and even at that she's an unreliable source of help that is a danger to herself and those around her. Chito is a smart and resourceful girl, she could probably survive on her own.

Both of these are actually normal in the manga and Yuuri doesn't come up as bad as in the anime. I actually disliked her at first while watching the anime but she became one of my favorites after reading the manga from start.

She's not even that genki in the manga, she's mostly chilling 24/7. She rarely takes things seriously and has fun. In the manga she comes off as aware of their situation along with being an airhead while in the anime it seems as if she's just a burden.

She comforts Chito multiple times along the journey when she's about to break, there's no way Chito could survive alone by herself like Ishii did.
