Show feels like it's on a rhythm of three episodes to resolve conflict. Last episode feels like it resolved something out of rhythm. Also, no time last episode and barely any time in the episode before was dedicated to the nature of Makinohara Shoko, which is still a mystery, so I expect that will be the next focus.

MC is an asshole. I hate this show. Why do people like this garbage again? These characters do not feel like real people at all. If you mean the apparatus she's making coffee in here, it's actually a vacuum coffee pot. You put water in the lower portion and coffee grounds in the top, heat the lower section (with that burner she has next to it) and the increase in pressure due to heating the water causes it to shoot up to the top part, kept up there by the remaining vapor pressure in the bottom the lower portion is sealed, the top part is open to the air. Then you remove the heat and the pressure drops in the lower section which begins sucking the heated water through the coffee grounds and down to the bottom.

She doesn't seem to have any memories of her "current" self. Most likely they're just suppressed because the human brain doesn't just erase memories out of the blue like that. She'll probably spot an old classmate or her childhood friend or even one of her bullies down the street, shut down for a bit, which will cause Good Kaede to return for a while. I don't get why people dislike her so much. As a character I think she's fine and I always interpreted her dumb pseudo-physics as just being an in-universe retcon of what the actual physics is. Her role in the story is to be the smart girl who tells the MC what's going on and how to fix it, so even if the science is bullshit the point is that it's there to give some kind of logic to the otherwise supernatural shenanigans.

This. My tearing up synced up perfectly with Sakuta's in the bathroom scene.
It felt a bit rushed how the conclusion to Kaede's arc was mixed in with a Mai-san plot. It was kind of strange how Kaede disappears from the second half of the episode despite being the whole point of the first half, but both were handled really well so I guess I can't complain. I think the author did an amazing job getting us to identify with Sakuta by getting us to really like かえで before pulling the rug from under us and turning her into 花楓. At that point both the character and the viewer are equally shocked. And I guess it didn't work on most of you Anons but I accepted the situation the same way Sakuta did as well and I wouldn't want to see かえで come back now because it would ruin the whole point of the arc. Especially now that 花楓 read the diary too, it's pretty close to them having merged instead of one dying off for the other to take over.
This show gets AOTS from me. Between this and JUST Because, I'm going to start keeping an eye out for anything this writer does because his track record is pretty stellar so far. I might even dive into my backlog to watch Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo now.

God damn it, why? Pandering? People bitching because they don't like a sad ending because it makes them sad? It ruins the whole point of the arc and the emotional impact if Kaede is just going to flip-flop from being かえで to being 花楓 all the time.
Funnily enough this reminds me of Raiden in MGS of all things. His arc is less of an arc and more of a sine wave too.

Once I thought about it, it makes sense to me. Kaede-san abruptly switched over for Kaede, but there isn't really any reason why it couldn't go the other way again.
For once this is a real mental disorder that exists, and it generally works the same way. When Kaede switches, she has no memories of what she did as Kaede-san, and vice versa. It doesn't seem to be a common occurrence from what I gathered; I didn't actually read the LN myself.

The fanservice is there to make the load from the walls of text lighter, and because why not. That doesn't mean you're supposed to ignore it, because if you pay attention to what the wall of text contains, you can actually find a whole lot more substance than what this story or most all similar ones have.
