I wanted to help people that are asking for help, but i don't know how to find those people or groups, but i can't find shit. What the fuck should i do if i want to enter into the fantranslation world?

 No.877620

Can't you just pick something that no one is translating (well) that you like? Or start with porn translations, since I frequently see new scanlators upload to sadpanda and get feedback. Or just start on something that people here want and post it. I know that people on /animu/ have threads where they translate and edit manga.

 No.877621

Oh, and bonus points if you pick something with lolis as nice as her.

 No.877623

What the other anon said, there are myriads of untranslated doujinshi and hentai manga that deserve to be translated. Then youcould also pick up some editing/typesetting/redrawing skills that way.

I translated a short story, but in the end it didn't make me feel connected to anyone. I see it then, >>877623 also tells me to hone editing and typesetting skills. Guess i should do something like that. Thanks guys

Scanlation groups frequently put credits pages in their chapter releases where they say which roles they're looking for.

>help, but i [...] groups, but i

>i do if i want

I'm not even that stubborn about grammar rules or anything but I'd really dread to see what your expression in English looks like regardless of your Japanese level if this is how you're going to go out asking tips on where to start. Practice English creative writing before you start working on translating Japanese creative writings or it won't matter if you're a native Japanese speaker, your translations will still look terrible.

Well otherwise you could always put out low quality badly translated doujins until crunchy picks you up as a professional subtitler.

 No.877688

Just translate things you want to be translated. There's a ton of things I'd want and I don't know how you haven't stumbled on a rare anime that lacks any translation at this point.

 No.877702

I actually was a typesetter for a group a long time before. Been through the translator search and the group eventually gave up after I think a 1 or 2 year run with what we could translate for. I'd be up to picking something up if there was a translator around to do it. I'd just have to download new software to do it since all that stuff was for my old computer, as well as the different fonts needed.

Regardless of my English level I do sometimes believe that that it's possible to better express myself and that some training is due. Specially when it comes to punctuation. Putting that aside, it's also somewhat important to change the way you write, wherever you write, just in case.

I'll start browsing /a/ more and check danbooru i guess to translate 4komas or something.

This is how we know you're a retard. Literally every scanlation group is always begging for help in their credits pages.

Been browsing /a/ for a while now but Welcome to NHK was the last manga I've read. Maybe OP is the same? Anyway OP is still a retard.

The better question would be to ask which scanlation groups still communicate over IRC instead of forcing you into using discord.

I suggest you get a group together. You can set up an IRC room or just communicate via the thread. If you put out a message saying you're looking for help and have something good to work on, people will help.

8/u/ has an informal group together and is slowly turning over stuff, if you need help or guidance don't hesitate to ask us.

Another 8/u/ anon here. I agree with this. We're always happy to help out 8/a/. I may be able to provide raws for requested doujin as I usually spend around $1000 importing doujin from comiket.

Were you the guy asking someone to translate that on /h/? I had no idea typesetters asked for money.

>I'll start browsing /a/ more

The problem with that is things which lack translation doesn't get discussed here. As a matter of fact, things that are translated will be hard to find conversation for if they aren't current or popular. It's tough being an anon into obscure things right now.

What I meant is that If you want to find things to translate, I've got a list, but I doubt you'd be interested in working on any of them. If you're not an /a/non it's understandable why you don't know what to translate, though. I suggest just getting more into anime and manga and just translating on the way.

I've only read one scanlated manga, ever.

>>878037

Those have already been translated friend.

>>878044

I've been too disconnected from /a/ due to not finding anything good enough to watch. As a matter of fact i'm watching Hitsugi no Chaika and that's a 4 year old anime. That's how out of touch i am. Thanks for the help.

>>878049

The only thing i ever wanted to read and translate was Owari to Hajimari no Miles. I went to a bunch of stores to see if i could find it but to no avail. Thanks.

>>878076

I was just going by what the other anons said in that stuff pops up. In hindsight i keep thinking that it's possible my japanese level may not be that good and that piss off an enthusiastic expecting a translation, but what i did expect from this post was to either find a group so i won't have to learn how to redraw, nor get the raws, or fervent suggestions on what could be translated. If you want to share your list please go ahead.

>>878150

Thanks i'll look into it.
