I honestly don't know what I expected. Hell it feels like more anti-anime shit has been happening more in this year than in any previous one. I just want to know explicitly why. Also, before any of you assume things about me, Japan did not commit mass war crimes; comfort women were prostitutes and Nanking didn't happen, at least not at the hands of the Japanese (if any did happen, it was likely by the communists). Also, Japan of 1800 vs 1900 are two very different beasts—Japanese thinking was heavily influenced by the West, so naturally they would seem very similar. And, Japan got really lucky—there were attempts made by other major Asian nations to "Westernize", but they generally couldn't get very far, mostly thanks to extreme bureaucracy, as most were under the Sino-Mongol system of government, which was in deep decline (think the late Western Roman Empire).

If I remember correctly, the Japs did something that the UN didn't like.
