I didn't like the pre-OP segment but decided to give the whole episode a try, and boy am I glad I did, that was a trip, I wonder if they can keep this level of animation up for the entire run.

The show seems interesting, puppetry combat looks fun and somewhat jojo STANDO-esq.

The manga was nice. Hope this anime isn't too bad.

I haven't read the manga but a lot of people seem to think it was hot shit. I enjoyed the first episode more than I would; tentative about getting into a 3 cour show but will definitely give it another episode or two before I think about dropping.
No.868967
I was on the fence about it, what with the wimpy faggot shota being the main character, stupid shonen cliches piling on each other, and the one female character being 80% of the reason anyone might watch it. Then I read some spoilers and I was completely ready and willing to drop it. Sounds fucking terrible.

>Wimpy faggot shota being the main character.
Anon If you really spoiled yourself, you should know this story has multiple MCs. The kung fu guy is one of them and he makes sure the shota gradually grows some balls along the story.

Your loss, anon. The anime will probably at least get through the mansion arc, which really isn't that far, but Shota MC redeems himself.

It has 36 episodes, are they really going not going to cover the entire thing in that time?

It has 400+ chapters, no way they'll get all of that into 36 episodes.

There's some but so far it has been used with subtlety for some puppet scenes, the lightning mixes the CG decently so it's not intrusive.

Maybe the will cut part of the brat's life in the circus since that's the only part of the manga that feels like filler.

I'll be honest... I really enjoyed the Nakamichi Circus storylines and the slow recruitment of new members. Was pretty comfy. When the deep as fuck plot stuff kicks in again, it gives you whiplash... Not that it wasn't amazing stuff. The lite and history and interconnecting woven tapestry of plot threads is goddamned masterful

I haven't heard Megumi Hayashibara in a currently airing TV anime in a long time, so that really caught my attention. This show must have a lot riding on it to hire her.

Yeah, I can't say for the content of all the untranslated stuff, which I've looked at but can't really parse. But Kazuhiro enjoys the pendulum swing of his framing. The tense Karakuri arcs, and the less intense (but still deadly in some cases) circus arcs.
It works for me given the translations and I hope the anime keeps the curtain calls and narrator

It's a shame that all scanlation stopped because, as far as I can tell.. that 250 or so chapter marks the goddamned halfway point. With everything that happened up to that point, so much that I can't even really mention it vaguely without spoiling the entire goddamned story, we were only just starting to see the story take shape and head for some kind of conclusion, maybe even a goddamned reunion. I hope this anime gets someone interested in scanlating the rest of things.. maybe even going back and cleaning up the mess left by the last few teams.
All that aside, it's going to be interesting to see how much they can cover with this anime. They did manage to cover all of Ushio and Tora in 39 episodes, and that was a 33 volume manga. Karakuri Circus ran for 43 volumes, so it might be tight, but even if they cut down, there are some single chapters in there that could span a few episodes, in my estimation.

You realize that ironically agreeing with them is still retarded, right? There are no "double standards" because man and woman aren't equal, thus aren't to be treated the same.

>So far it seems to be the good kind of shonenshit
I'm not sure. The animation quality has never matched up the first episode, and the story and particularly storytelling are all over the place. I find myself laughing at what are supposed to be dramatic or sad scenes because they are handled so poorly (eg. girl dies in narumi arms, 3 seconds later old lady comes over and lectures him on how he has to fight while he is literally holding a corpse in his hand).
I am pretty on the fence as to if I drop this or not. I don't really know if I really want to watch 30 more episodes of this.

Haven't been keeping up with the anime, but it looks like they skipped a ton of shit to get that far. The kids hospital stuff was much further into the manga. Guess they really are trying to cram the entire thing into the few episodes they got.

I'll watch the anime and now start reading the manga. I don't even know the manga yet it feels like they're skipping like crazy, but I still want to see delicious Shirogane animated (the usual waifufags are missing out, I don't like calling a girl the waifu of the season, yet she and Ellie from Kyuuketsuki are much better than Thunder Thighs or the usual picks) and because the OP pumps me up. The animation isn't bad either, but there's a lot of moments that are unintentionally funny.
