As we come upon the final month of the year, it's time for another rabbit rabbit thread!
When you wake up on the first of the month, if the first thing you say out loud is "rabbit rabbit rabbit", you'll be blessed with good luck for a month!
Hope you guys had an enjoyable Thanksgiving, because it's already time to start preparing for the best holiday of the year.

Neato. Finding pennies is always good, especially heads up. I had an old lady approach me with one once, saying it was good luck to pass them on to the first person you see. I've never done it myself since I'm too awkward and socially inept to approach strangers for that sort of thing.

I said it this month, but I'm holding off on deciding whether it helped or not until the very end, since you never know what will happen in a couple days.
On one hand the start of the month went well, with good fortune for the first two weeks.
But I also had a bit of bad luck, which may or may not be resolved by the end of the month. After a couple meetings with my intended Master's supervisor, fleshing out the thesis project, my preliminary background research turned up that someone had already done exactly what we were planning, so we had to scrap that and start coming up with a new project - one week before the grant application deadline. I blitzed through the proposal itself and sent it to my supervisor for him to review before I submit it, and I've had faculty agree to provide the necessary personal references. It's out of my hands now, waiting for feedback from the supervisor and for the referees to fill out their forms, so all I can do is hope for some luck.
If this all goes through by Thursday night I'll do everything I can to remember to say the rabbits on Friday, whether the people warning about soul-stealing are right or not.

Either you're playing dumb or not the same Anon who summoned/birthed the entity. Regardless, your "luck" stealing scheme is already widely known now and it's supply of souls will soon come to a halt. I don't know what kind of indenture you've bonded with this thing but it must have been costly, considering you've already fully consumed one soul now RIP that anon who killed himself for your sick Slaanesh demon. For all anons who have no clue what I'm referring too, just know to never EVER do what the Tewi poster says. Once you willing vocalize or focus on that "rabbit x3" phrase at the beginning of every month, you will bind your soul and a significant amount of loosh to this creature. If the phrase is repeated then the effects will get more and more degenerative. There is no net-gain of luck, it may be perceived as such for a little while but the debt will grow larger and larger until the entity makes your life hell while consuming you whole. Case and point the anon who an hero'd.
Keep yourselves safe, and remember that Tewi is not only canonical a trickster, but is also completely shit in almost every aspect. for those anons who did fall into it's debt, I pray for you and hope you make it out unharmed.

I'm quite serious. I woke up this morning and even though I ultimately decided against saying it out loud, I do remember thinking it and I don't know if that may have been sufficient to trigger something. All I know is that this morning, I have awoken feeling tired and dehydrated. I stayed in bed for what might've been an extra 3 or 4 hours just trying to recuperate from this feeling that I've been drained of something.
I fear, since I was kind of lucid in my dream when I thought it, that that may count as saying it. This rabbit thing is clearly some kind of curse or soul contract.
No.764592
>>764575
I'm pretty sure that saying 'rabbit rabbit' lets the rabbit curse you. The three times rabbit is an old tradition originating from the British Isles and saying it is a good luck charm. Not saying, or saying it improperly (using usagi/only twice) however leaves you open to the trickster-who-shall-not-be-named's curse. Once you learn about the youkai's version of the rabbit you've already been cursed and unless you can forget it completely you will continue to be cursed, but saying the three rabbits protects you from this curse, at the cost of being reminded about it and renewing its hold on you. Hence why rabibt poster reposts these threads all the time, couldn't have any anons freeing themselves from misery.
No.764595
>>764592
Thank you for the informative post.
Do you consider yourself to be cursed as well since you know of it too?
No.764606
>>764595
Yes, in fact, I came to this hypothesis by noting how incredibly terrible my luck was when not saying 'rabbit rabbit rabbit' after having already said the words and having normal luck several months in a row, (when not said: luggage going missing, latops dying, phones breaking, becoming very ill right before an important event etc all within the space of two months). Yet if simply not saying it meant I was cursed, then why was my luck normal enough before I knew of this? Because of course, the knowledge of the youkai's 'bargain' alone places you under the curse. Although, and it is impossible for me to test this, but it may be the case that if you never once say 'rabbit rabbit rabbit' while thinking of the demonic Inaba you will not enter into the contract at all, even if you have knowledge of it, and never become exposed to the curse, but for us who have already been guiled into this seemingly harmless act, the most we can do to protect ourselves is to continue with the evil chant every month until Touhou has reclined far enough that we can no longer even remember T*wi's face and the old spirits of fortune reclaim the words for their benevolent blessings.
No.764611
>>764606
Thanks for your informative post again. I didn't think any of this stuff was serious.
Does your luck truly return to normal after saying it? Or is it just returned to a level that's not as low as what you know it could be?
No.764619
>>764611
Normal or not I'm not sure, since it's difficult to isolate and properly quantify luck, but I certainly am able to observe that in the months that I do say it I have not been so reliably stricken with bouts of bad luck. Yet external factors that I have been unable to account for may be contaminating the results so further research may be neccessary.
No.764628

Well, alright. Thanks again.
There is one final question I have: did you notice any immediate effects the day you had successfully initiated the curse?
No.764633
>>764592
>>764606
Not sure it works like that, since I distinctly remember saying it three times on the first of January last year, and my luck was thoroughly fucked for the entire year. The luck redistribution theory seems more likely, or maybe it's a mix of both.
Either way, the rabbit is evil and anyone who wants to say this should proceed at their own risk.
No.764635
>>764628
The first time I said rabbit rabbit rabbit while thinking of TOwO was a long time ago and I can't remember at all, so unfortunately I can't answer that question. All I can say is that you would be unlikely to notice any immediate changes on the exact day unless she decided to personally screw you over. Perhaps if you were depressed recently and ventured too close to 'gensokyo' you may be more susceptible vulnerable to the immediate impact of the curse than others.
>>764633
Did you say it only during January? If so it might actually support my hypothesis, but if your luck was noticably poor during January as well that would contradict my thoughts.

>there's no curse for improper usage or missing it or anything.
No there's no curse for improper performance of the charm, however you give the Rabbit power over you the moment you preform the charm while holding in your mind the association of it with Her. The charm still provides the luck or does nothing as it would otherwise upon sufficient commitment to the ritual, (i.e. minor dicrepancies are not as important as the acknowledgement of what you're performing), but with Her power over you, consecutively failing to performing the rite causes Her to play 'tricks' on you, a manifestation of the bad luck. In other words by creating a mental link between Her and the ritual you have become essentially 'haunted' by Her. The charm in itself is pure but rabbit anon is under Her wiles and is perpetuating the link as a vector of transmission to give Her more power.
