Decent enough so far, but I wish the MMO part was a bit more self-aware. I don't think anyone, least of all a 30 year old NEET cake, has that kind of wide-eyed fantastical view of MMOs. They do have some gameplay-related gags and references in there but for the most part the game world is less like a game and more like an isekai she isn't stuck in.

>Let's just create another 10 episode anime that will end abruptly because why the fuck would be spend more money to make a 21 episode anime when the DVDs, Manga and Figurines will sell the same.
I fucking hate the 11 episode anime meme that is currently happening in Japan. Back in the 2000s most animes were 20 episodes and had a good beginning and ending. Nowadays everything is too fucking rushed and the endings are generally fucking retarded. Not only that, once an anime is popular the studio just creates a super low budget season 2 (again with just 10 episodes) with an extreme amount of pandering just to moneygrab even more.
Biggest reason why I don't like modern anime. I don't even really have anything against the animation style or types of stories but these short anime are legit garbage.
No.743043

I agree that the anime produced just to sell LNs/manga is a bad practice, but I'll take these short and concise shows over 50 episodes of filler and pointless bullshit. The fact of the matter is most of these shows don't have plots that are complex or epic enough to warrant that much screentime.
No.743051
>>743043
50 episodes is pushing it for the majority of anime, I agree. 20 episodes feels like the sweetspot where the story can be properly told and the filler isn't too much (filler isn't even necessarily bad, it can be very enjoyable). 10 episodes are just too few in my opinion. 10 episodes is alright if it's just an experimental anime I think 10 episodes is fine, otherwise it's way too rushed.

10 episodes is fine if you're not working with an epic. It's small enough to get people dedicated to watching it, and it can generally have a whole plot or two (sometimes three) from multi-chapter mangos/LNs phased through without rushing or slowing down with filler episodes. Doubly so if they move towards 45 minute opening and ending episodes instead of the general 20-22 minute episode for the rest of the season. The issue is that producers like to take the epics that need 3-4 episodes per volume/plotline, and try to condense it down into 1-2 episodes so as to cover more material. As a producer, I'd rather only air a volume every 3-4 episodes and only get through the first couple volumes since that would give me more material to immediately pick up and make another season from assuming I wasn't working with a 12+ volume series that necessitates a volume every 2 episodes.

>How can she splurge on overpriced gaming™ peripherals and microtransactions while being a NEET?
Build your own PC and you can get shit dirt cheap. Gonna build a budget desktop this winter that'll be able to handle an HTC Vive and maxed graphics on most games for about $700 and just hook it via HDMI to my TV. Building it as my little siblings' birthday present. A couple hundred in microtransactions isn't that much if you brought in good wages up until that point.
I know if I hadn't had to give money to my family for when they inevitably fucked up at various times, I'd have saved up about $20k in the last four years just from working at well under market wages in my profession, and not having anything (other than beer, eating out once in a while, and a couple other luxuries) to spend it on thanks to my mother teaching me to be a coupon clipper/extremely frugal with my money. I only make about $20-$30k/year. She grew up on a farm with virtually no money as a child/experienced near-starvation multiple times, so she's always been extremely careful with her money. Apartments are expensive here (about $10,800/year for a single bedroom), but I could see a corporate schmuck bringing in a decent chunk of change to live off of for a few years if they worked for 11 years with lots of overtime likely factored in to explain why she didn't have a family or other hobbies before quitting her job. It's actually one of the things I'm looking forward to when I cut off all contact with my family next year to join the military since I'll have virtually nothing to spend my active duty mil wages on going in as an E3.

Well this is what it comes down to. I don't feel like their relationship is earned. It's because Japan's drug regulations prevent them from having any of the over-the-counter cold remedies available in the west, so getting the Japanese cold means being an absolute fucking mess for the duration of the illness. This is exacerbated by the fact that you can't just call in sick from work, you have to go there in person and ask for leave to go to the doctor, and then pay 5000 yen to have the doctor write you a sick note, and after all this, you're only getting maybe 3 days off work maximum, and I think they're your vacation days. There's also a sort of commercial terrorism committed by companies that sell face masks and "immune-system boosting drinks" that want you to think everything will make you sick. There's also the fact that everything in Japan is so clean that being exposed to the slightest filth might make you sick.

Allow me to clarify. I wasn't asking why they see colds as deadly and serious; I know they can be. I'm asking why they think spending time in physically cold temperatures or in rain will cause a cold. I don't think I've legitimately heard someone say "Don't go out in the rain or you'll catch a cold" in real life in 10 years. Maybe in the American Midwest they still say that, but not where I live.

I'm not denying that a physically cold body is slightly more at risk due to not being able to put as much energy into the immune system, but thinking that a disease caused by invasive microorganisms can also be caused by being cold is retarded. A person, alone in a room, sleeping without a blanket will not become sick. The reason winter is cold and flu season isn't because the cold weather helps the organisms spread, it's because people get closer together and stay indoors to avoid the cold in the first place. Why do you think hospitals are kept cold? Cold restricts the growth of bacteria, it doesn't promote it. Read a book, nigger.
No.748896
>>748893
Yeah but with how many viruses and bacteria we're confronted with and surrounded by every day in any situation you might as well say that the cold causes colds because the requirements for it are always given (there will probably always be one or a bunch of infectants within your body). It's just semantics at that point.
No.748902
>>748896
At that point you might as well say going outside will get you sick. Mucous membranes and skin exist for a reason. My point is that being cold or even out in the rain only increases your chance of getting sick by such a negligible degree that the whole saying is null. A character sleeping without a blanket and getting sick from it is cartoonish. Going back to my initial question, I was curious if that was just seen as something that happens in cartoon but not real life (analogous to pepper being anywhere near a character making them sneeze or banana peels being super slippery in Western cartoons) or if that is actually believed by the majority of people.

According to this, lower temperatures let the virus outpace the immune system, making you more susceptible to catching a cold.
Don't be so quick to dismiss something just because it's wives-tale knowledge. Out of the three languages I know all of them somehow associate the word for the disease with the idea of cold. People may not fully understand why something happens but they can easily make these kinds of correlations over time, and when they're this consistent throughout almost all cultures there's probably some truth to them.

Exactly. Correlation, not causation. Even the article you posted admits that winter is cold season because people are huddled together. Not disagreeing but I think there's still something sour about Slife Anime with just 10 episodes. 20 episode animes just simply develop much better and are overall more enjoyable, because the studio can take its time to properly introduce the characters and plotpoints.
The absolutely biggest thing I fucking hate about 10 episode anime is when they do A MOTHERFUCKING CLIFFHANGER AT THE ENDING OF THE ANIME BUT THE ANIME NEVER ACTUALLY GETS A SECOND FUCKING SEASON SO YOU END UP WITH AN UNFINISHED PIECE OF SHIT.
One of the absolutely worst example of this that I can think of is Barakamon, it is geniuenly a very enjoyable anime but it falls short because it didn't have enough episodes to introduce and resolve plotpoints and because of a retarded (semi)cliffhanger ending that never got resolved EVEN THOUGH IT GOT A FUCKING SECOND SEASON PREQUEL.

I felt like it had something special going on, but; instead decided to be all style and none of the substance I assumed was coming. My point it that you're right. All the examples you gave are both familiar and numerous bullshits that are at the core of anime. However; I fundamentally disagree with your assertion that:
>20 episode animes just simply develop much better and are overall more enjoyable, because the studio can take its time to properly introduce the characters and plotpoints.
Anime must be judged on an individual basis and as such; I find your opinion to be arbitrary and lacking in understanding. A studio can deliver a fantastic anime in the space of 10, 20 or even greater/lesser episodes, it is dependent entirely on the circumstances and what the studio want's to achieve in their work. Some anime isn't even episodic and there are many greats of this nature that coexist within the industry. Quality narrative can be delivered in a few a sentences and anime can be great, or terrible, in as many frames as desired. Treat your caps lock with more respect too please.

I'm not saying that all anime with 10 episodes is trash, barakamon is one of my favorite anime (even though of the stated flaws) and it only has 12 episodes. The issue I see is that the majority of anime that we see nowadays are10 episodes even though they would be excellent with 20 episodese. I respect the artistic vision of a studio when it decides that it is best for a simple or experimental anime to have 10 episodes, but the truth is that the decision to push 10 episode anime is 90% of the time a solely financial one. They receive the rights for a well known name from a manga or novel and then push an average 10 episode anime because they know DVD, figurine and manga sales will mostly be the same.

It wouldn't be a preconceived notion based on your personal experiences, no? I don't deny that it happens, but I wouldn't delude myself on an arbitrary percentage of it's occurrence.
