Watamote is kinda a SoL but a unique one where most the events actually played a big part instead of a 1 off joke, all the writing have a a long setup and a great payoff. It show that the mangaka actually took time to wrote intricate storyline before drawing them, unlike some manga Fire Punch . In fact, the story structure is what separate it from other typical SoL manga, for example, theres a lot foreshadowing of major characters disguised as background characters. Most characters that Tomoko interact with was introduce way back before they were important. I recommend peoples to read Watamote at least 2 times, you'll see background characters that will became major characters later on.

I just notice a major flaws in watamote that I somehow overlooked all these years, probably because the story got me hooked that I don't notice it at all. This manga have the laziest background ever, on some panel, it doesn't even have a background. Is the mangaka too cheap to hired a background artist?
