I started reading the manga. Finished the first one, liking it a lot but the second one is absolutely baffling.
I don't know if its the translation or that its just poorly written. The first two chapters seem completely pointless and barely explain anything, only showcase how much of a Mary Sue Motoko is. The art is fucking awful with badly rendered 3D mixed with badly colored art.
Also what the fuck are these things? They are treated as something already established despite them being completely new.

The a big theme of the story was once again the whole "what really is true/real" deal. I think it is very interesting to see many of the technical bits being depicted a little differently and I did like the new designs but that is even more opinion based. I liked it better than the second movie and some of the SAC episodes.
