Since ZUN has made references to HAARP and the moon landing hoax in his games, what other conspiracy theories do you think would make a good Touhou game?

My pick is the Golden Lily Treasure. Taken from China by Japan, and then taken by the USA, this legendary vast amount of gold lost during World War 2 would motivate many to try and find it. Not sure if ZUN would make a game that makes Japan look bad, though. They still don't want to acknowledge the horrors visited upon the mainland during the war.

It was Tenshi's last word in Antinomy of Common Flowers. Called "HAARP's Anomalous Weather." (Final spellcard in this video) While I was surprised that Tenshi gained control of the legendary weather machine, I was more surprised that nobody in Gensokyo thought it was that big a deal.

Maybe it is fake or exaggerated. The fact that people doubt history could be an opening for ZUN to make a game about the legends of WW2. Uncomfy subject matter, I know.

But all that gold ... the spoils of war ...Imagine if all that treasure landed in Gensokyo because it disappeared from belief.

How about the MIB? Or rather, Girls in Black? You could make it so that they forcibly recruit "psykers" like the Usami girl in an attempt to "invade" Gensokyo and basically pull off the SCP project on it

I really need to get back to that thread at one point

Anyway, I brought it up because that could be used against me. "You think X did nothing wrong because you yourself are an X!" I didn't find out until last Halloween because my mother's side of the family keeps it quiet, because my grandmother is Korean-Japanese, but ethnically Korean. It's silly. I prefer the Germanic European side of my family anyway, for multiple reasons, one of which being my face. Just glad I'm not a nigger, or Jewish, or anyone that had no significance in any way.

Of course, then one of you may ask, "Why would you bring it up in the first place?", to which I would respond, "Alcohol. :^)"

Firebombing did worse. There are plenty of good reasons to dislike America, but only because we're dishonest about our imperialism and that imperialism is for a few Chosen....

Why is "Chosen" capitalized…? Also pic related.

Also also it's not that weird for someone to ask his opinion on a head of state. Maybe a little inappropriate but not that weird.

Gee, it's almost like a nation with more than 200 years of history is going to have plenty of military operations.

And it's not that it's weird, it's inappropriate. That's why it's cringeworthy, and why I want to punch the questioner.

Regardless, the vast majority of those conflicts were predatorial in nature -- America has one of the most secure geographies in the world, being half a world across from any real threats and its two neighbors are basically its allies. The interventions in Iran, Panama, Iraq (twice), Afghanistan, Sudan, Libya, etc. were not justified, as they were not essential to the US's survival. Those nations only threatened the hegemony of America, not its very life, and so the decision to attack them was one of greed foremost.

>were not justified

Imperialism is totally justified, and other Western nations do the same even today. The problem is that the West is not honest about its imperialism, not to mention the US's imperialism for Israel's sake. American lives should not be cut short for a bunch of kikes. This is why I and many others have issue with interventions in the Middle East and North Africa.

Much like Kaguya is a Lunarian princess, Wakasagihime in truth in a princess of the merpeople, and fled to Gensokyo from the real world for reasons only she knows.

Over the years, various strange sounds have been picked up by the hydrophone arrays of the US military and other organizations (namely noises such as Upsweep, Whistle, Bloop, Julia, Slowdown, and Train). They were explained as the result of icebergs hitting the sea floor, ice quakes, or that of volcanic activity.

In truth, however, these sounds are emitted by arcane technological devices in the hidden settlements of the merpeople at the very bottom of the ocean. Their exact nature various - some of them are the equivalent of a highly advanced form of sonar with which her people hope to track down Wakasagihime. Others simply are encoded messages urging the princess to come back home.

These signals are as futile as they are dangerous to the merpeople. For one thing because Wakasagihime no longer inhabit any ocean of this world. For another, because each subsequent noise picked up by the humans makes them more likely to discover the hidden settlements of the merpeople beneath the ocean floor.
