Which one has fewer restrictions? Can i just laze around, drink, and play tabletop games with Suika? Hell, maybe we can set up a shrine to jolly times in a comfy cabin. Hell, with some belief and Gensokyo's rules, you can have a God(dess) of fun times come to life.

If I had to choose from your list though, hanging around the Moriya shrine would be pretty alright.

I don't think this is a religious branch; I think she just practices Tai Chi Chuan as a martial art. At least I'd go practice the martial art under her while remaining under the Christian banner

As for Yumemi, it makes sense for her to base her artificial magic on Christian themes, as it would be the strongest religion/faith in the outside world, with spells being derived from teachings and verses from within the bible. As for actually being Christian, there's no real guarantee either way.

There's still other differences, in that European religions have distinct set of mythology and Gods, while in Shinto anything from a living being, a dead one or something inanimate like a stone can be that of the divine. Europeans also lack the Purity aspect of Shintoism, in the theology sense.

But yes it does all come from Ancestor worship, obviously since that is how they got their theology in the first place.

Also one more thing I should ask: who do I turn to to become a fedora?

Atheism is used to refer to the belief in a lack of God, rather than a lack of belief in God. Though I recall the "atheist community" voiced their support for either Judaism or paganism at one point in recent time, so it's more of a belief in opposing Christianity.

3. Miko has a pragmatic attitude and is willing to lie to her underlings (spreading Buddhism in Japan while she herself studied Taoism) because she knows not everyone can reach salvation/ immortality

4. Sees people for what they are, i.e., does not believe that man-eating monsters can be lead onto another path.

I do completing understand the idea that I could be hallucinating everything cause I have hallucinated things before, but I feel it's best for me to "go with the flow" until I'm proven wrong.

Therefore, I think it's best to work with this universe's logic and that evidence should be shown before I believe something. If the world is fake then show me something I cannot comprehend, or a "glitch" in the world.

>I know hallucinations aren't real

You don't, you can see them, and depending on the hallucination even interact with them, see: schizos

That's still not my point though, although I guess it relates which is why you are confused.

The whole point is that taking the leap of faith into materialism and "logic" is still just as much a leap of faith as religion itself, all knowledge is derived from the fact that nothing can be known, however paradoxical it may seem, so to claim one thing or the other then becomes silly and much more importantly irrelevant. For what consequence will real and unreal really make if you cant even tell which one is which anyway?

I completely agree that you should live as you see things, but it's not like this perception isn't tangible.

On another note, what upholds the laws that uphold our laws of physics? And, do you think the creatures that began to evolve eyes even think that there is something more than darkness or whatever other basic senses in their surroundings prior?

Not really, to believe in religions means you both believe in logic, AND extra things that cannot be proven.

That's the equivalent of saying "movement is derived from the fact that nothing can move" it's just shit someone makes up to sound smart and feel good about themself, like using out of place english like so many others on this board seems to enjoy.

>I completely agree that you should live as you see things, but it's not like this perception isn't tangible.

Yeah, it might be fake, but to actually constantly stop, and interject an astronomically unlikely scenario as being possibly real not only wastes time, energy and brain cells is silly. It's like honestly proposing the "last Thursday" theory That all of humanity and the world was created last thursday and that we were implanted memories of times previous. is true so therefore why care about what someone did last Wednesday? It just makes you look like a dumbass.

>what upholds the laws that uphold our laws of physics?

Again, you're just trying to seem deep. It's like saying "how could the big bang happen if there was no oxygen for the explosion?"

>do you think the creatures that began to evolve eyes even think that there is something more than darkness or whatever other basic senses in their surroundings prior?

You do come off as defending the religion of solipsism (the religion, not the philosophy). Did the possibility that that's what you'd come across as cross your mind?

>Just because you don't understand what something means

The statement only makes sense if you're a staunch believer in the idea of solipsism and I don't put faith in the idea of solipsism. All I'm saying is that this whole world could be fake (as in, I'm agreeing with you) but it makes no sense to me personally to keep such an idea in mind when I think about other things due to how unlikely it is. This is about the third time I've said this to you man.

>I never mentioned this

I was about to respond to this when I realized I actually have no clue what you're saying here. The line you're responding to is me saying that you bringing up solipsism is a waste of time, yet you act like I put words in your mouth. This doesn't make any sense.

>you're not the end all of reality and not everything is measured by you

Lol, have you even read what you've posted? You've been acting like solipsism has been proven.

For the last time, I agree with you that the world could be fake. But I don't put my faith in it due to lack of evidence.

>to validate whatever silly beliefs you hold in

So you're saying solipsism is silly? Because, again, I believe solipsism could be true, like I said before.

>I'll just let you have the final word and be smarter.

>Also by learning Tao from Miko, I can reject my Ego and become the best version of myself possible.

I'm not sure whether the Taoist crew really is the best bunch of people for that. The girl to actually teach you Taoism would likely be Seiga (i.e., a borderline sociopath so crazy that even her allies don't want to be associated with her), and Miko herself has been proven to be rather selfish when she promoted Buddhishm in Japan but went for Taoism herself, which she in turn chiefly did to attain immortality.

At that point, you might as well ask Kanako to teach you how not to be selfish.

An enquirer then asked Yang Zhu, saying, "If by sacrificing a single hair you could help the world, would you do it?" "The world," replied Yang Zhu, "could most certainly not be helped by a single hair." "But if it could," urged the enquirer, "would you do it?" To this, Yang Zhu returned no answer, and the enquirer took his leave.

Yang Zhu wasn't into speculation or virtue signaling. Wu wei can look like selfishness, but social considerations like that aren't the bottom line. Still, Seiga is a weirdo for liking dead girls.

tbh I've met many people where I could tell, really tell, deep down, there was nothing great or beautiful in them in the very slightest. The sort of people whose only purpose in life is to serve as a bad example. They're pretty common.

>>60581

>Not really, to believe in religions means you both believe in logic, AND extra things that cannot be proven.

On the contrary, they have to reject logic and insert extra things that cannot be proven to hold up their stance in place of it. That's why it's such a clusterfuck. If they really gave a damn about logic, we wouldn't be having these problems. They say they care, but they don't.

>>60584

>Just because you don't understand what something means doesn't mean it's something someone made up to seem smarter

It is if they provide no substance for that something, or have to contradict reality to establish it. You need a way to actually determine things are the way they are; you can't just assert anything baselessly and then turn around and say "LOL U DONT KNO". It's childish, perverse, and wholly counterproductive.

>you're not the end all of reality and not everything is measured by you

Ironically, by your own beliefs, that IS the case. Because if all you have are your own perceptions and you can just disregard reason and evidence for woo-woo thinking, then everything one perceives is their only real measurement, which means he would be justified in thinking his own perception is the end-all, be-all. But if you care about other people's perceptions, but aren't willing to question them and destroy them when they're mistaken, then being able to perceive at all is pointless; You have no way of resolving contradictory assertions. Quite the paradox you dug yourself into. Thankfully, you've been wrong about everything so far, so the rest of us are spared.

>you're intentionally not arguing what I'm trying to say and misinterpreting it to validate whatever silly beliefs you hold

Pretty hypocritical, considering that's exactly what you do to disregard what other people are saying. Then you have the nerve to imply you're smarter for being retarded. You're not doing as well as you think you are.

...why we do not actively seek for disciples, but simply wait until they come to us? Because there is a difference, an utmost important difference between salvation and enlightenment. The former can be given by others, but the latter can only be achieved by walking the road yourself. Sure, you may seek the advice of those who have already walked the road for some time, yet giving in and asking them to carry you means admitting your own failure.

"Those who actively recruit new disciples - the Buddhist lot, for instance - do so with the implication that these people NEED to be saved. That they are too dumb, too incompetent as if that they could find the beginning of the path themselves. Wanting to help others is an admirable trait, of course, but if people are given the task of climbing a mountain and you respond by carving a nice, comfortable set of stairs into its flank, you fundamentally misunderstand the purpose of the mountain the first place.''

In biology, evolution only occurs when an organism is exposed to one form of hardship or another. It is similar with the mind - the path you need to tread in order to reach enlightenment certainly may be stony, but the callous that forms on your feet as the sharp rocks underneath bore into them only makes you stronger. Taking the aforementioned flight of stairs, on the other hand, not only weakens your feet, but also makes you utterly dependable on the one who built them. As soon as that person no longer is there, you are lost.

In short, the less people think they need to help you, the more confident they are in your abilities. If a disciple comes to us and asks us for the best routes to climb the mountain, we shall be happy to give him the best advise, but the climb itself is something he and he alone can and must perform.

Not everyone is made out to be a crown prince. Some are just Buddhist sheeple, and it would be downright cruel to set them unto a path they could never hope to master.

Others, on the other hand, have the strength and willpower to walk the path of Taoism. Unlike those who seek permanent, metaphysical brb gensokyo from this cruel, cruel world, the Taoists are not worn down by its many hardships. On the contrary, they learn to enjoy them.

Buddhism is the most hardcore religion in Gensoukyou.

Byakuren rides a motorcycle and wears black leather. Shou is the disciple of an actual war god. Ichirin is the hardest-hitting character in the air fighters (ora ora). Kyouko is the main vocalist of a punk band.

Suika is also a former practitioner, and a pretty formidable one at that.
