Flandre and Remilia were (most likely) from Europe, and Patchouli, being an "old friend" of Remilia probably comes from the west as well. Koakuma is just a familiar of Patche.
We know that Meiling came from China, but unlike her compatriot Seiga, Meiling had no particular reason we know of to come to Gensokyo, so chances are she either was "sucked in" when the faith in Youkai in China vanished, or she was picked up by the Scarlet Devil sisters while the SDM was in transit to Gensokyo (or she did indeed have her own reasons for moving there). Also, there's this entire dragon thingy with a side-dish of rainbows, but that is probably just to emphasize her Chinese-ness.
Sakuya is a more interesting case. She's a human in a mansion full of immortals who insists upon her own mortality and humanity. At the same time, she regularly kills or at least cooks humans so Flandre can have her meals (Remilia is implied to suck blood directly, although she is a messy eater), her time-manipulating abilities mirror the Stasis theme of the Lunarians, and Eirin appears to be suprised upon meeting her, Sakuya apparently isn't her real name but one given to her by Remilia, and she carries silver knives said to be particularly effective against supernatural entities (including vampires), Akyuu implies that she also may be from the outside world, and that Sakuya originally was vampire hunter who joined Remilia after getting her shit kicked in by her (based on the silver weapons).
But what's your theory regarding the two? Meiling has little background info as she mostly just serves as a comic relief akin to Cirno. Yet Sakuya's history seems to be deliberately kept ambiguous.

In gothic fiction antagonists often have exotic servants and stuff like that, people they picked up in their shady travels. I think of Meiling like that.

I said this in another thread but I guess I should put it here instead. What do you guys think is wrong with Sakuya? Does she have Stockholm syndrome for Remilia or is she a complete sociopath and sees killing people like killing cows? As for Akyuu's theory about being a vampire hunter, unless it's Stockholm syndrome, I think it's stupid. I mean, become a vampire hunter to protect people, lose to a vampire, help them kill people? Makes no sense to me. My head canon is that Remilia took care of Sakuya from a young age and that letting her use silver knifes mean "I trust you" sort of thing. Also, as for "Not being from Gensokyo", I mean, duh. IIRC the entire mansion itself isn't from Gensokyo, let alone the residents.

I think she is, I would think her ability to manipulate time has fucked her aging process is all. Unless she's a magician.

Isn't her power is only moving so damn fast that everyone else is stopped?

I thought it was slow down time so much that it looked paused?

Nevermind. Her wiki page says that she manipulates time and partially space.

I read one doujinshi where Sakuya is indeed human but had very bad experiences with other humans as a child because of her supernatural ability, to the point that a violent mob killed her mother. As a result, she hates (or at very least is indifferent towards) other humans, while her extreme dedication to Remilia simply results from Remi being the first being other than her mother that showed her kindness and didn't treat her like a freak.

How powerful are Sakuya's time controlling powers? Can she only just stop it for a while or can she mess with aging process of things and people? Or maybe even herself? Is she able to rewind/fast forward/pause time only in an area of her choosing?

IIRC she can only slow time down so much that it appears to stop. Also, she can't affect the aging of others but I think it's implied she's a lot older than she appears. As for exactly how long she can slow down time I don't know.

Damn, I get so many conflicting informations, I have no idea what to believe in. Some say she can slow time so it appears to stop, some say that she can move very fast, that she can do it for a long time, short time, that she can affect her aging proccess and that she does not. I don't know what to believe in

Yeah, I guess it is supposed to be ambiguous. Well mostly from some anons on /jp/, they seem rather sure about what they say though and I don't know really much

For whatever it's worth, Sakuya is so old that Remilia claims she can not remember a time without her. While Remilia herself is some 500 years old.
Then again, that might also just be Remilia saying that she can't imagine an (un)life without her.

Probably the latter. I doubt that she would be a maid from a time when Remi was still human.

Was Remi every human in the first place? I thought 2hu vampires were more akin to some kind of demon, rather than humans-turned-bloodsuckers.
