I know he isn’t x but I’m not sure where to put this question either.

I remember tv in the 80's in the uk and the programmers would put on all sorts of films in the horror genre, I dont remember friday 13 EVER being shown on national tv. Its not like the films where unknown, they where notorious as what was then called by tabloid press as video nasties.

I actually was expecting one of its parts to be shown over the span of its relevance (like 5-8 years) The evil dead is understandable since that film is quite gross in parts so, but the FT13, i didnt really get any gory aspect from the modern version when watching them in a post dvd thing ie 2003/6 After his guardians let him drown because they were partying so the franchise goes, jason , dispatches anyone engaging in illicit sex and drugs. See jason x the one in space, its parody but im sure its just bringing up to speed

I just think its abit strange for Laissez-faire (relatively) broadcasters to miss out this obvious film grossness, as a contrast i came home from work at something like 2.30 am, the film being played was supernatural, as it went on a man was working underneath a car, a characters phy ability caused the enging to start.the next shot was a screwdriver shooting through the cars front bonnet with blood spurt. So the point here is why no Jason but other gross shit.

What do you reckon?

Either they didn't have the rights to show the films or they thought they weren't good enough? I'm not sure I understand the question.

Maybe they were afraid some parents would complain. Like you said, there was a campaign against certain kinds of movies and although Jason might not have been worse than others that were shown, the fact that he was more famous made him a more likely target. Or it could just be that they couldn't afford to pay the rights to show it.

im not sure these films were all that, cheaper films and classier films were paid for and shown.

He seemed to kill those engaged in illicit behaviour, reminding him of who let him drown, he was anti hedonism.

The blackout is just so obvious relative to all the other b tier crap that got shown, I got to watch these films in the 2000's and they are really tame, I can not see why there would be this blanket of silence, of course you had the Halloween films shown regularly, but he was just a phsyco where as jason had a reason to be pissed of, he died because of a lack of responsibility from his guardians so it seamed.

The films wernt gory. My first exposure to this .ology was jason x and it was quite shocking in a sense of narative change to see the antagonist JV killing because of morals. It must fed back to the original plot where jason drowns because his mentors were of getting up to naght-naghts.

They never showed jason films.

You get that a station can't just show anything they want though, right? Maybe someone else had the broadcasting rights to Jason.
