 No.26449

/x/, I need you to tell me everything you know about werewolves. Particularly, anything you might know about protecting oneself from them.

 No.26461

While out and about or ward them from your home?

The easiest answer is don't go outside at night if you feel there are some in your area. Werewolves don't typically hunt particular people, but easy prey.

To protect your home/ animals grow wolfsbane. For more immediate protection, spread salt in a circle around your house.

First thing you should absolutely do if you're going to be out at night is bathe, wash away your musk.

If you're Catholic or otherwise Christian wearing a medal or icon of St. Christopher is advisable. Allegedly werewolves particularly fear his anger. Another option is St. Francis of Assisi.

Silver shouldn't be trusted to kill on touch. I've heard some say it works, others that it's complete bunk. But good ol' shotguns at least stun. Fill some shotgun shells with rocksalt. I'm not certain it'd work but from a human perspective that's probably the single most painful experience of my life and in most stories werewolves have some sort of aversion to salt.

Also, just pepper spray. Hurts like Hell in humans, imagine what it'd feel like to a dog's sense of smell. If you can get the shit that's meant to deter bears, all the better.

 No.26473

THere is only one thing you need to know about them. They are NOT REAL you LARPfags.

 No.26504

Sorry, I don't know much about werewolves (but really, who does?). However I've read many stories of alleged encounters and as far as I can remember nobody has actually been attacked by them. Usually the werewolf (or dogman) just stands up, stands there, or runs away. It might stare at someone or growl at him, but that's it.

Anyway, why are you asking? Have you seen one?

thanks for killing the board, reddit atheist.

 No.26541

Do you people actually believe in werewolves?

what is your evidence?

 No.26548

>>26541

I'm not 100% sure they exist, but I tend to believe they do. As for the evidence, well, there are lots of stories. I know they don't count as hard proof, but they do count for something.

How about european humans evolving from wolves?

anything on that?

I ask because "I want to believe"

 No.26556

>>26555

Is that a meme?

 No.26566

Personally, my skepticism isn't so much that I'd say werewolves don't exist, I think I saw one once. I just don't see why they absolutely must be malevolent bloodthirsty murder machines at all times and all cases. Humans aren't all murder psychos at all times, and wolves aren't all murder psychos at all times either, so why would combining the two mean being a murder psycho at all times?

 No.26602

>>26566

Imagine having the feral instincts, strength, and anonymity of a man-sized, semi-intelligent/sentient wolf. You might not be violently-inclined, but a lot of people given that type of capacity for violence would use it to get even.

 No.26604

Werewolves probably don't exist, but dogmen have been seen all over the world.

It seems they usually avoid killing humans for some reason, though they love to terrify us. I also wonder if some of the Missing 411 stuff is not dogmen breaking this "rule".

As for stopping them, you'd probably want something that could take down a bear or elephant.

Here is a channel with lots of interviews:

People on here believe in magic, ghosts, aliens and things far less easily describable. If you're open-minded enough to accept the existence of those, why not werewolves?

What if dogmen are just a secret breed of dogs? We made chihuahuas from wolves, maybe we also managed to create a wolf that walks on two legs.

 No.26684

>>26677

Mainstream scientists believe in dark matter and dark energy. They believe most of the universe is made up of stuff that can't be observed or measured. They just believe it must exist because otherwise their theories wouldn't work any more. How is that any more reasonable than believing in auras or werewolves?

 No.26685

>>26684

Dark matter can't be physically observed (yet), but its existence can be inferred by the fact that galaxies remain cohesive despite lacking the neccessary visible mass to act in such a manner. It's the best scientific hypothesis to explain observable data.

The existence of auras and werewolves can't be inferred from anything other than personal experience and don't explain anything about the universe.

 No.26687

>>26685

If magical invisible matter is the best hypothesis scientists can come up with, what credibility do they have? They're just making shit up to avoid admitting that they're wrong.

 No.26690

>>26687

You clearly have no understanding of how science works. The dark matter hypothesis most closely fits observed data, and thus is most likely to be true.

 No.26693

>>26654

I (and most likely others too) absolutely don't believe anything werevolves, bigfoot stuff, but believe in spirits, magic, etc.

 No.26697

>>26690

The fact is that there's no evidence that dark matter exists. Zero. There's more evidence for the existence of Sasquatch. The most likely explanation is simply that the current theories are wrong and need to be discarded, but so-called modern scientists are too arrogant to do that.

 No.26698

>>26693

Why one and not the other?

 No.26709

>>26693

So you find spirits and magic easier to believe than a big ape-man living in the woods…?

 No.26723

>>26690

Dude no it doesn't, it explained why observed phenomenon, such as the speed at which galaxies were spinning, wasn't matching up with estimated mass and what we think we know about gravity. So we made up this invisible substance to explain why galaxies were moving like they are without having to discard Newtonian physics.

One thing to know about science is that generally held theories are not discarded until they are DEFINITIVELY proven wrong. Which leads to them making up shit when something doesn't perfectly align, but could possibly if we change the math.

I mean Hell, if the Earth is a 4th or 5th dimensional object we really could be the center of the universe, but we'd have no way of proving or even perceiving that.

 No.27187

>>26690

>>26693

>>26697

The existence of dark matter can be inferred from the gravitational effects of it as >>26685 says. It still only contributes 26.8% of observed mass/energy in the Universe though. What's really just making wild guesses is the existence of dark energy.

 No.27188

>>27187

What's more likely, that we don't yet really understand gravity or that dark matter exists?

 No.27200

>>26654

I guess im used to 4ch /x/ where it was a fucking conspiracy board.

>>26556

something superstitious blacks think, apparently.

 No.27210

>>26687

they're not "making shit up", they outright explain that the term "dark matter" is a placeholder, as in their theories predict a bunch of stuff they can't currently observe (Eintein's theory of relativity predicted black holes, but they weren't observed until much later) there is no scientific theory that predicts "auras" or werewolves.

 No.27213

>>27210

If a scientific theory predicts a kind of matter that can't be observed, maybe it's not a good scientific theory.

 No.27371

>>26461

Solid advise except for the bear mace. That shit is less potent than the mace intended for humans precisely because of a bears more sensitive sense of smell.

If you're worried about werewolves OC spray would be the way to go. That shit is powerful enough to blind regular humans.

 No.27378

Like all wolves, guns go a long way. Consider a high powered rifle or a military quality shotgun. If werewolves are after your livestock. Laying bait laced with rat poisoning is effective. If werewolves are preying on your friends and family, then consider staying indoors at night and if you must venture out after dusk then absolutely carry a shotgun with you and travel in a vehicle exclusively.

If it's possible to make a chihuahua starting from a wolf through selective breeding, is it so hard to believe that we could have created a breed of bipedal canines?

 No.28513

>>27385

Yes. A chihuahua is simply a neotenic wolf. Bipedality would be a tremendous evolutionary jump, not selective breeding.

HOWEVER

WE do have fossils of bear-dogs, which sound a lot like the Waheela. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_dog

off topic question:

How does one become a werewolf in the first place?

 No.35299

>>35277

 No.35303

>>26684

This.

Science has died in exchange for theories, we've reverted back to the middle ages with alchemy, with little to no evidence scientists try figuring out the universe with out ever looking at the data. The worst part is their theories make no sense so in the end believing in werewolves is more intelligent than people like Einstein ever were.
