Not to derail this mostly dead thread, but I thought it was the one most related to my situation and I don't really have anyone to talk with about this.
Back in 2007, I was so depressed I kept having recurring thoughts of suicide that interfered with school. So, my mum took me to see a psychologist. Around that time, I also started to see a ghostly apparition, nearly every night, who'd just be standing outside my bedroom door, always looking in the same direction. When I brought it up, he just dismissed it as nothing to be concerned about and once my depression started to ease, I thought she'd go away.
Needless to say, she didn't, and I'd see her nearly every night for the next 8 years. Over the years, it became more serious, as she'd start to appear behind me when I was on my computer and I'd get this creeping sensation, like when someone's staring at you. Sometimes she'd even appear even in my bedroom when I was trying to fall asleep. I sometimes mistook her for my coat rack, but other times she was standing in places where there was nothing tall or thin enough to be a human, so I know it was her. I moved out of that house and into my own apartment in 2014 and for a few weeks, I didn't see her, so I thought it was some sort of ghost haunting the house, since it was built in 1864 (heritage houses rarely get knocked down in my country).
Around a month or so after moving in, I was going to the shower and I saw my dog, a big and courageous bullmastiff just whimpering in his bed and a figure standing in my living room. I grabbed the baseball bat that I keep by my bedroom door but they did nothing and just stared at me, even after I yelled for them to get the fuck out. I didn't want to risk anything, so I turned the light switch on that was next to me, which illuminated the room next to and behind me, at which point the figure just disappeared. Not in a flash, but just completely gone. From that day on, she started appearing again, at which point I was certain that I'd gone completely mad.
Well, it's 2017 now and I've moved out to the country (1H, 45M from the city) for work and she's appeared again. As usual, all she's doing is just hanging around doorways, standing in my bedroom while I sleep and occasionally hanging around behind my shoulder. I can't interact with her and she hasn't said anything to me, either. I don't really feel any bad "aura" or anything, but I'm not well versed in the supernatural enough to make that estimation. She only appears when it's dark, and has lank brown hair, pale skin and wears really mundane clothes (pants and hooded sweater). I thought that would be pretty unusual for a ghost, but does anyone have an idea why a ghost would just track a person down like that?
