I have been working on an 8chan archive/backup system which has now been completed. It’s currently run manually but after some more testing will be uncaged to run in automatic mode on this board. That should mean the archive is only ever a few minutes behind the live site. Unfortunately due to multiple bugs in 8chan’s code and APIs the replication cannot be fully realtime as I would like. 8chan’s operators are not responsive or communicative so I cannot fix the bugs myself. The released 8chan source code is also out of date without explanation.
All data is replicated in a structured form meaning everything can be imported onto another image board should 8chan fail or a better site becomes available. The coming automod and other features will work using this database. Unfortunately it's not possible to improve 8chan itself for the aforementioned reasons, so all systems must be external.
