Which do you prefer - original Star Fox, or Star Fox 64?

I'm particularly partial to the original, mostly because it has a certain charm to it, considering it's a fully 3D game on 16 bit hardware. But that's just me.

>>405I agree with this guy. Also, it was the first one I played and possibly the first of its kind really. I didn't get the same feel with the second game.

I prefer the original because I didn't really like the all-range mode 64 had. I also didn't like the Blue-Marine.

64.
I didn't like the original's talking.

I prefer SNES. Something about the level design just feels great. Also I'm not big on 64's level path system. I liked just choosing from 3 different paths.
>>475But with n64 you have to deal with slippy's fully realized voice

SNES.
64 is what doomed the series to being nothing but rehashes and bulldungery.

64, obviously. Starfox original is a barely playable slideshow.

I prefer the aesthetics of the original, but as far as actual gameplay goes I'd take Star Fox 64 any day.
The original just doesn't hold up to me.

The thing that killed that game for me was how slow it was. It could be fun with the overclocked SFX.

64 is the only one I've played so I have no choice. I liked all range mode though, so it'd still probably be 64.

I can only tell you about 64, but based off what I've seen and know about the original, I'd imagine 64 to superior graphically, is more diverse gameplay wise, and probably operated better on next gen.
Though the original was impressive in regards to what it managed on a 16 bit console. Its pretty neat and I'm glad nintendo was keen on making it better.

Maybe then it wouldn't be so damn easy either… I find SF2 much easier than SF1 and SF64. I beat it easily on the hardest setting, compared to the other two were I barely can get through the medium difficulty at times.

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play. The original for the aesthetics and 64 for gameplay. As far as gameplay goes, though, I'd just rather play Space Harrier.
