Anyone played Exile? I had the demo on the 64 and it was balls to the wall rad. I tried playing the amiga version on WinUAE yesterday but the collision detections seems really bad. I could barely get out of the first room because i kept getting stuck on the walls…

May as well post my solution - it was because i was emulating the ECS version on an A1200, it works fine on an emulated A500.

Honestly I haven't played a good amiga game I'm not sure what people see in it. All of the games are just super annoying clumsy feeling platformers with the same euro demoscene music for the every level. At least that's how it feels to me.

Yeah the platformers on Amiga are 99% awful. Avoid those and there's plenty of other good games.

Hmm. I'm considering making an Amiga gamepad. Would this be something people would actually use? I'm still in the process of designing the board for fabrication, but I'm not sure if I should invest the resources in even making a prototype.

I just bought a chinashit mega drive and modified it to work with the 9-pin joystick port (I'm on Atari ST though, but the joysticks the same).
Could be useful I guess if it gives the option to remap up to a button for platformers, etc.

m8, you might be good with a soldering iron, but you're terrible at marketing. You shouldn't be asking us if we want the damn thing, you ought to be telling us why we need it. Why was the Amiga pad the most ergonomic device to grace a player's hands? Why was it the only choice when you were all that stood between humanity and an invading alien force hellbent on its destruction?

If you grew up with 8-bit computer, the Amiga platform games are fine.
If you grew up with NES or other console, then probably you won't like them, especially the joystick->up to jump business.
But I had a lot of fun with them, especially Gods, Leander, and Lionheart. Also found this one recently:

But yeah, it was a lot more than just platform games.
