consider the fact that we have learn basic military theory for 3 year in high school, then i dont see why we shouldnt have 2 week of miltary. I know how to throw a grenade, assemble rifle and sub-machine gun, (aka basis concept of military theory)

well no shit we gonna resist them, but you know, they are college student, and we are live in a peaceful time, i dont see why we should have more than 2 week

i join the Militia and Self-Defense force for the past 2 year now, from my experience, uni/college student should have mandatory militia service for 2-3 month, 2 week is like, shit. Learn how to aim and how a gun properly take 1 week, and then come to basic tactic, shooting and shit.

Thank you for the information, my waifu is going to military training in June and I was pretty confused about the point of it all. The uniforms are pretty barebones, they don't look as good as the pith helmets and khakis the actual military was.

2 weeks is the required training for a common VNmese militia to beat a Chink conscript of equal training

since Chinks outnumber VNmese 14.5 to 1, VNmese college students require 14,5 times the military training of a common chinese

i bet the chinese also do the same, so if a regular chink student receives 2 weeks of training, a VNmese student will have spend 29 weeks on militia training, effectively half a year + 3 weeks
