Anon, sadly, that can be taken in several different ways. Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, Zelda, RE, Mortal Kombat, Outlander, Metal Gear, HUNDREDS of games have taken direct inspiration from Hollywood. However, that being said, up to the past decade, games also existed in a different "realm"than films. They never tried to compete with them and mostly did their own thing, which even rings true for the FMV titles which are literal interactive movies. And, the people who made the game mostly consisted of people in the tech industry rather than the arts.

SFM is easier to get into then Blender, but has a lower skill ceiling. Source is also just an old engine and you can only fit so much detail into each model. There's a small handful of animators who make god-tier SFM animations that look incredibly realistic with high quality models and lighting, but it's much MUCH easier to do in Blender than SFM just because it's newer and overall easier to use.

Any company that makes porn will immediately tarnish their image, game companies for the most part are not going to want to do it. If Blizzard starts making official porn then parents will not let their kids play those games and some adults will be turned away also. To be honest that's understandable. There are legitimate concerns when someone does outside work in the same vein as their professional job. They could leak secrets, even unintentionally, or they could sabotage one of the projects because of conflicting loyalties. A lot of jobs have in their contracts that you cannot do similar work with another company or on your own.
