Witcher 3 dominated talk about RPGs for years after it came out. When it comes to Squeenix, Beth, Ubi, and others, they do squirm when CDP is mentioned. Beth and Todd had to face the fact that if they shat out a game, it wasn't going to be immediately game of the year with FO4.

Got around to playing Deus Ex: Mankind divided and I couldn't shake the memory of the footage from the "gameplay" trailer. It's probably visually the games are similar to me, except cyberpunk is trying to assault my eyes in every second with this obnoxious effect on the screen. Why they would try to make their gameplay demo unwatchable is beyond me especially as they spent so much time curating the segment they wanted to show the world. Did nobody who OK'd this watch it?

I will never pass up the chance to shit on the Witcher 3, but at the end of the day I don't think it's truly a bad game either. The amount of people that praise it as God's gift to Earth really piss me off though.

Was the Witcher 3 worth playing? 1 had really fun quests like the murder mystery but mediocre and repetitive combat, 2 was a bit more linear and I disliked the detective vision/witcher vision, and although the combat is better but it was still not really enjoyable.

Try Age of Decadence. One of the better combat systems in RPG's that came out lately. You can make a full combat build, kill everyone and you'll have fun.

Writing a character that's a sarcastic douchebag is actually a very delicate process because if you do it incorrectly they either come across as a childish weirdo or are so obnoxious that they ruin every single scene they're in. The kind of assholes you'd expect from a Cyberpunk game would be opportunists that are nihilists because they've been stomped down by life constantly that'll try screwing you over because they assume you'd do the exact same thing. In reality all the characters are just gonna be quip-machines with no actual definable character traits besides "likes to make dumb quips", "likes a fake drug that is a combination of LSD and ecstasy" and "likes to fight". I'd say one of their personality traits would also be fucking nonstop, but some people could see that as slut shaming so I doubt it'd ever get directly addressed.

The guy that posted the infamous tweet (the Postal 2 Gif where the Dude pisses on the "Games Journalism" gravestone) was fired after working there only 6 months.

During those 6 months, he managed to increase CDPR presence and social media reach tenfold.

When he did that, he didn't read the gravestone, he only thought "oh, the Dude pissing on a grave, that's a nice sum up for the game" since they couldn't post any gore from the game on Twitter.

He didn't do it to support Gamergate. He himself isn't for or against it, publicly, he only has the opinion that a serious and long debate on the topic is required.

On the other hand, their bosses were scared shitless. They got themselves into a AAA living hell by making a game with a dev cycle that has gone on for almost 7 years.

When you embark in a massive project like this, you either sell millions of copies, or a week from launch, you'll be having a meeting with your workforce and informing them that atleast half of them will have to leave.

A gif of a Dude pissing on Game Journalism will attract the ire of the Gaming Press. They don't have that much power, but they can cut off some of those final sales.

A post that "looks like" to support GG will atract the ire of even worse autists and dedicated shit-stirrers, and they can do even more damage than the press (specifically, by feeding the press 24/7 with bullshit to write about).

Yeah, they caved in. But not caving is taking a very risky gamble. It paid off for the likes of Vavra and other small creators. Would it work here? If you were the head-honcho there, would you look at over 200 people happily working on the game and decide to wager ALL of their livelihoods and future?

You can still assign some of the guilt to the guy who posted it and to his boss who fire him, but once again, the brunt of blame lies with this cancerous cancel-culture thing that runs rampant and threatens bankruptcy with nothing but mirrors and smoke.

Blame SJW's and the usefull idiots who rally against GG without knowing what the fuck they're even fighting against anyway.

As for the game, they've done well so far in the visual and musical department. Gameplay seems somewhat detailed, but I don't expect full simulation details anyway. As long as there's options to be a dickwad and options to be a selfless samaritan, I'm sold on the game.

My only wish so far is that they bring the PERSONAL RESPONABILITY chick back later in the story line. That trailer was great, and she was a great concept for a character.

Depends how you look at it. Original Elves are not very relevant in TW3. However, the antagonists are Elves from Geralt's world who invaded original human world eons ago and you are forced to side against them for your own survival.

The books and TW3 clearly show that invading Elves were even worse than invading humans. What's also pretty ironic is that wild hunt elves exterminated humans and yet they were unable to adapt to and master their new world. And yet original humans were able to to it twice in two different worlds.
