Obviously. The more options there are hosting shit, the less chance of total purge if something goes down. The biggest question is who ought to be pushed as priority targets to pick up the slack, be they existing ones, or a new one hosted somewhere not subject to laws against drawings (and which won't risk being subject for some time). I'd like to think scanlators/uploaders would just opt for another option than just throw in the towel over a major site going under. At the same time though, it strikes me as a matter of also needing to prevent whoever they move to from powertripping over it, hence another reason it's important to have such content spread wherever will allow it.
Personally though, as a short term measure, I'd be curious as to if the existing panda backups would be readily willing to rehost some of it, being that the intent for them was to backup content deleted from exhentai prior. Though, I suppose there's a vast difference in server space required for stuff purged mainly due to (((Jacob)))'s dealing and the entire fucking site. A reason tag of "panda_closure" would be fuckhuge.

Panda was dying long before this announcement. Uploads were getting more infrequent, and even the western category became almost exclusively artist galleries. I think the biggest irony is that the western category ended up having more fucked up shit than the weeb categories. Yea, the difference was always huge, for nearly decade already as far as I can tell. Though exhentai wasn't completely perfect either to no one surprise, considering it was ran by this ponyfaggot. They removed and hid plenty of galleries, some of the shit you couldn't see either unless due to some account restrictions bullshit, I don't remember exactly how it worked, I think it was related to some points system or shit like that. The site really went downhill in 2010s.
