the SRWAlpha debacle proves that the only real obstacle to actually obtaining these licenses for western release is Harmony Gold
with the proliferation of anime series internationally thanks to streaming websites, Sunrise, Bandai, etc. would be quite open to letting the SRW series release in the west and freely advertise for them

I actually expected more the first SRW game ported on PC to be one of those OG titles, either Moon Dwellers or else from the PS3. I assume the licensing hell doesnt stop with just streaming websites, but also DVD/Bluray publishers in the West, depending of the country, etc. That said, SRW V and X are both really easy games (T was reported to be the same way) but I hope this will give the chance for more ancient titles to get ported on PC

Harmony Gold, on the other hand, somehow acquired international rights to all things Macross from Tatsunoko including the name, which is a damn shame because Studio Nue hasn't worked worked with Tatsunoko since Macross 7 and yet they can't license out their work for international publication

what are they even going to use it for? They haven't done shit with Robotech since 2011 (a Mospeada themed movie) and haven't touched the Macross aspect since The Sentinels in 1986.
The rest is selling Robotech DVDs at this point, which they should just secure the rights for in perpetuity and let go of the rest

Surely it wasnt game stores deciding to stop selling them because they couldnt profit off of trade ins. Steam was avoided by a lot of PC users when it first came out in what? 2003 iirc? It was considered useless bloat. But finding physical copies of PC games wasnt common even in the early 2000's.
