It is and isn't. Origins is definitely more difficult and has a lot more emphasis on collecting everything. Legends is more streamlined and generally has more emphasis on movement flow rather than moving around getting 100%.
I prefer Legend honestly. Origins has its charm but Legends has better artwork, movement and overall gamefeel. It's just put to use on easier platforming, which I can understand would make people pissed since sequels tend to be more difficult rather than easier. Personally, to me, Origins comes across as a big adventure, while Legends feels like a collection of barely connected level themes. In Origins, you can tell how the levels take you on a journey through each world. In Legends, it just feels like you're selecting levels from a menu. You mean ps2, not ps. The PS version is actually missing content compared to the N64/PC version and only has one exclusive boss fight against a ninja robo pirate to make up for it. Aside from the hub world, the ps2 version also takes a lot of Rayman's default abilities and locks them behind upgrades you have to buy, plus it has a few extra mini-games/challenges you can play. In regards to the voice acting, English is default, but you can switch it back to the "Raymanese" of the original.

Maybe it's just that I don't really like "platformers" the way /v/ does. Saying that having momentum in a platformer is shit is like saying having flight physics in a jet game is shit. The entire skill curve is learning how to control your character. This is a great point and probably why I love megaman. Megaman is still a platformer but with no bullshit momentum shit or physics. In Megaman X, even though you have the Dash Jump, you can press back and X will immediately turn back. Your jump distance doesn't build up the longer the dash last or anything like that, which is nice.
I guess my biggest problem is unresponsive controls. I think stuff like fixed jumps in castlevania works, but if the game is all about speed it fucking ruins it. I'm beginning to think I hate "pure" platformers.

Because Ubisoft Montpellier is French so it was likely less infected with western politics. And they've been developing Rayman since the start. The last one they made being a smartphone game though. Before that they put out Valiant Hearts. They announced Beyond Good and Evil 2 recently and I imagine it'll be cucked considering nothing good can happen this far into this decade when it comes to vidya.
