Can a mod step in and delete all the (1)s that are just bitching about the joke ban and add nothing to the thread?

You're supposed to go for every chest but not take too long doing it. Essentially, the point is to farm and explore as efficiently as possible, taking as little time as you can while maximizing the gold you get without ever stop moving.
Take Shrines, for instance. It's basically 2 items ready to be taken, but this takes cash and a bit of luck. Eventually you will get them (I feel like they are FAR more lenient than from the first game) but if you're low on cash, blow it all on a Shrine and fail, this means you will either have to stay around it to farm gold for the next re-try or if you decide to return later, you're likely not gonna have enough cash for the next chest by the time you find it.
Instead, you can make a mental note anytime you see a Shrine but ignore it and keep exploring. When pretty much every chest is open and you're swimming in cash anyway, you can backtrack and try them since you will likely be able to smash 5-6 times the same Shrine without losing too much time in case you're unlucky.
Or take Turrets too. Those things are almost useless most of the time and most players only activate them when they are near the Teleporter. However, if they have a vantage position to a large area where you're going to be walking around in, they can help you farm faster, offsetting their cost and netting you a profit as well. It depends heavily where they are on the map but they can easily help you farm gold to open chests far faster if well used.
Outside of this, you're supposed to explore the maps and figure their layout since the random changes aren't that deep either. After that, you can plot a course that takes you all around the map in the shortest amount of time.
For instance, The mountain's map has an higher position and another island that's sometimes connected by a bridge.
If you start up top, make your way down through the regular path, check the tunnel on your left for any chest and then go right. Fall down if there's a chest or a bridge to the other island, drop to the lower ledge when you get there and jump back up. Return by the bridge, check the lower area far on your left, check the upper ledge there as well for a chest, check the tunnel that's sometimes blocked and the roadblock in front of it. By now, you explored the whole map without any backtracking.
