Arc System Works have overtaken Capcom when it comes to the studio seen to consistently release "quality" fighting games of multiple franchises. ASW now has Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Persona Arena, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Blazblue Cross Tag under their belt with little controversy (well BBTAG had controversy and probably their weakest output) and generally were praised well, with Granblue Versus on the horizon, compared to Capcom having all of their fighting games die except for Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom (which is probably dead now too). They are seen now as the top dog of fighting games. SNK are quickly climbing the ranks too but so far they have fewer output (KOFXIV, SNK Heroines & Samsho)
Basically, Capcom's recent failures had everyone think very fondly of Arc System Works. Is it warranted? I can't say, but it's clear to see why normalfags would flock to them now, similarly when everyone flocking to Platinum games in absence of Devil May Cry as they filled a void.
