I'll be more specific on my opinion. Katawa Shoujo was shit period. Everlasting Summer was good, but when compared to actual Japanese VNs (which Everlasting was trying to emulate) it falls short. Unteralterbach was the most fun of the three (regardless of visuals).

There's a lot of untranslated shit from the 2000s and nowadays most Russian studios make crap mobile games, not PC games.

HM1 had much better level design. It hit that perfect level of challenge without going overboard and becoming cheap/annoying. HM2 however jumped very far over that line and delved right into being downright obnoxious at some points. Do you remember the detective level on the cargoship? The police level as the pigmask movie director?

Should've been called Hotline Miami 2 Many Windows. Fucking incredible soundtrack though, might even be better than HM1.
