Does anyone else find the Xbox port of Soul Calibur 2 choice of guest character a little baffling? Why not master chief? Halo already has plasma swords. Why not even the hero from Fable or Gordon Freeman?

in the 360/ps3 hd remakes they put both Spawn and Heihachi in. makes me wonder how much work it would have taken to put in Link…(to bad WiiU had such a small install base namco never bothered to port SC2 HD. that would have been the ultimate version with all 3 guest characters!

That’s when Toddt McFarlane used spawn to push his politics into his comics. But that’s probably not why spawn comics stop selling like crack. I think Todd even admit he made god a villain because he didn’t like that Christians were some of spawn biggest fans/comic buyers. Ironically. That was also when spawn stops selling as well as Batman and x-men. Imagine comics was almost as big as dc and marvel. Until Todd start losing the company money from all his lawsuits.

In early spawn comics. At most portrayed god and heaven as overly Vengeful. Good example is the HBO spawn cartoon scenes with Angela before Todd loss the rights to use her to marvel. Angela an angel that find it disgusting that human won’t kill pedophiles and drug dealers on sights. The whole god worse than Satan thing came out of nowhere. Before that angel was seen saving people including nonbelievers all the time from demon attacks. Also, throw away character development of spawn Realizing god as much of psycho as he is but he still trying his best to fight on side of god. A humanized flawed god it’s self a interesting take before the whole he ways always evil retcon.

Originally for SoulCalibur 2, Cloud Strife was going to represent the PS2 version. But the deal with squeenix got cancelled and he was replaced with tekken's heihachi.
For SoulCalibur 3, it almost featured Dante (from the Devil May Cry series™). But the idea was scrapped for unknown reasons.
For SoulCalibur 5, Bayonetta almost became a guest character. But the idea got scrapped because her fancy hair attacks were too difficult to include.

So that's how that happened.
I heard that at some point, many comic creators (Todd Himself) just stopped drawing/writing comics and just became editors…and other things. I remember McFarlane became absolutely HUGE from his Spider-Man & Spawn runs because he was such a hot artist at the time…then he stops drawing. The one thing that made him famous, the very foundation of his success, he stopped doing. Heard he focused on the Spawn cartoon then other unrelated comic things like buying a baseball team or something. Sounds like success got to his head and he purposefully pissed off his fans to destroy his empire.
