I mean, I see what you're saying but would you rather play in the endless stream of mobileshit looking Fortnite-like aesthetic games or get immersed in a different world for a change of pace?
Anyhow, Killer7 haunts me to this day. Something about the lack of textures, the buildings connected very flimsily so that entering a tiny building puts you into a huge corridor that has no right to be that big, or the way the enemies are so difficult to discern as ANYTHING but blobs of hatred. It's really cool. Too bad the base game is either too dense on Gamecube or too easy on PC. Still worth a try.
