When I will be a father, I will definitely do this.

As >>16629368 suggested you could start with NES games, as they have simple control schemes, and don't overload him with a hundred NES games. You might want to start with more action games like Mario or Contra, rather than turn based games like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, which involve a lot of reading as well. Though it is possible for a small child to play more complex games, when I was four, I managed to play Age of Empires 1 on the computer, after m father told me how to play. I was a shit player though.
Another thing you could do, and something plan to do, is that if you want your child to easily learn a second language, is to only give him cartoons and movies dubbed in that language. So if you are an Eastern European and want him to know English, only give him cartoons dubbed in English even anime if your really need to, and nothing else. If you are American, then you could use German or French dubbed, to have him know a second language, and please don't use this as a way for him to learn Japanese. I also plan on making a sort of streamming box connected to the TV, that will stream a series or cartoons, that I chose, even when the TV is not on, so if he wants to watch a cartoon, then he has to watch it at that hour, so he will have to book his time, and understand that not everything happens when he wants it to happen, unlike the Netflix generation. After a few months or an year, I will replace a show or two, add a new season and so on. I even plan to add commercials and all sorts of stuff, basically I will create my own cartoon network, and he won't even know.
Lastly you should read to him at least every night, start with Grimm Brothers, 1001 nights, Aesop Fables(pic related) and so on.
Hope you will be an outstanding father, and good luck, you will need it.
