This unprofessional behavior is mostly reflected in their lack of ability to make actual specific rules without "we we decide what is good or what is wrong" bullshit which means they can do whatever they wish to, no matter if you do or say. Just take Steam situation with anime porn vanilla eroge or VNs for example, Valve has some employees that ban games or even developers of such games for no reason, in most cases silently without explanation, even though those products do not violate their rules which do allow adult content on Steam. Ironically of course they tend to overlook degenerate stuff like bestiality, furfaggotry, faggotry, cucking, sometimes even sexual themes involving children are allowed if it's not loli or made/published by big company, i.e. Life Is Strange 2. In fact it's so bad that a lot of those devs are still afraid to release their games uncensored out of fear being banned or their product being declined by Valve, usually they still try to upload uncensor patches somewhere else or add it as DLC, just like before "Waifu Holocaust" happened, meanwhile the ones that make purely degenerate stuff have nothing to be afraid and always release their stuff with no censorship.
There are others problems like social media that were mentioned in this thread too, but anyway, this is mostly the way how nearly all of American companies are behaving in general, I bet this problem exist outside of tech industry in America just as well because for some reason people that run the companies or work for companies don't really know the business etiquette in US unlike, say, Japanese companies, that usually are also completely silent since they don't want to scare away their consumers. Perhaps it's better in Europe too, I rarely saw such unprofessional behavior and in most cases only small businessmen were acting more freely, although the companies I dealt with were behaving rather too friendly, in a personal way. I don't know why those corporations can't behave themselves, maybe Americans just don't treat the industry itself seriously, for one VA or "localizer" positions are not treated seriously and in Japan even VA in some average VNs usually treat their job seriously. Maybe the industry is just full of complete jackasses that can't behave properly in real life as well and they weren't told by their parents how to.
