But here you go, Torneko no Daibouken, also Dragon Quest 4 kinda counts, part of the game you play as old knight dude.

X has the best combat imo, you also can use all of your characters in every fight, which is pretty great. You don't end up with any weak party members that way (if a character so much as throws a banana peel at the enemy they get the full EXP from the fight).

Thats quite the jump tho, V X T are probably the easiest SRW titles where as AP is well known as one of the hardest. A good series tho if your looking for manly old men, lots of them to be found in both the regular SRW titles and the OG titles.

I know it's to keep it sorta grounded, but I wish more old dudes in fighting games had a different fighting style or didn't fill the niche of "old fart Kung-fu master". I like using Gen-fu in DOA because of how simple but brutal his attacks look, but I'd also like something like some old veteran using boxing and dirty tactics.

One of the reasons I held on onto hope that Black Dahlia would eventually become playable in Memegirls. An augmented hot old Mafia lady sounded awesome, but was relegated to the story mode, like other interesting characters. Even without that, the game was memeshit.

That's just wrong. There were two versions of Nier in nipland. Replicant with brother Nier and Gestalt with father Nier. When it was brought over to the US they only brought Gestalt over. It didn't get changed for the US.

What about a game that does the Watchmen/Incredibles thing where the main characters are a bunch of retired heroes (not necessarily of the capeshit sense) who are forced to return to duty despite being past their prime? Closest thing I can think of is Overwatch, but that game really underplays that angle by making it seem the heroes haven't aged at all since their glory days.

Lost Odyssey has main characters who're all technically 900+ years old but they hardly look it and they don't have any memories; the side characters include a loser in what looks like his late 20's and a gun pirate grandpa who still refers to his immortal mother as 'mama'. The Suikoden games usually have at least a few old characters, ranging form the Don Quixote-esque Maximillian to the old japan-esque spear general Ghalleon. Dragon Quest 3 has an old man soldier, a grandpa mage, and a middle-aged fat merchant. Final Fantasy Tactics has Thunder God Cid, the single most OP mother fucker you can get and they just hand him to you along with god damn Excalibur.
