So the rumour mill on all the big gaming rags is saying Fromsoftware is going full on development for Elden Ring -gotta use all those resources for Georges latest scat based magnum opus i guess- and Sekiro is considered "feature complete" and not getting any DLC.
So lets break it down:
>Genichiro is named the "disciple of Tomoe the heretic", a 'dancer like swordswoman who flowed lightning through the air like water'.
She never appears and at best might be the dead angrogenous kimono wearing body at the top of the hilltop behind the Fountainhead Palace, could also be the last Heir to try this shit Kuro wants to
>The Monks of Sengoku are kept immortal via 'infestation' as large centipedes nest inside them and will not allow them to die even if they want to.
This goes nowhere and the origins are not revealed
>Ashina was a land infested by evil spirits that were driven out by the Divine Dragon and only the Headless remain as remnants.
Why was the land mad haunted and what limited it to Ashina?
>A lone retard and his son show up from the west in plate mail chasing the divine curse
How did these assholes learn about it?
>The people drinking the water runoff are turning into undead enough of the concentrated stuff turns them into catfish people
Why would a dragon from the west turn people into zombies and catfish?
Yeah i know some of it is nitpicking but Tomoe and the Infested alone remind me of Dark Souls 3's 'cathedral of the deep' and all the talk of 'the coming age of deep sea' that went fuck all nowhere. But it looks like that could be that. No more closure. You kill those bosses that are never challenging again. Your shota master either dies, fucks of or gets unbirthed into a frozen zombie girl and credits. Thanks for your time now dont ask questions and fuck off.

If you want to convince people of the soundness of your logic, apply it on other areas where applicable as well. Otherwise you're a hypocrite, or your logic isn't as sound as you thought.
I see you're still here so maybe you don't buy so much into this "stepping stone" meme and you're just triggered by the mere mention of "DLC" like a feminist is triggered by a male stranger complimenting her on her clothes.

I see you argue like a feminist. Logical fallacies and ad hominems. You cherry picked a single metaphor from my entire post and built a strawman out if it as if you were making a point. Now you want to talk to me about sound logic…
Suffice to say that you do not have to apply logic to arbitrary other areas in order for it to be sound. Logically you should eat and breathe. But you cannot apply that to breathing mustard gas and eating arsenic. This doesn't mean that the logical statement is wrong.

It's not worth its own topic and since this is the closest to it, Miyazaki shared some new info for Elden Ring from an interview with IGN.
“Elden Ring is a third-person action RPG with a fantasy setting. The gameplay is not so far from Dark Souls. That doesn’t mean that the gameplay will be identical, but you could say that Elden Ring belongs to the same genre.”
According to Miyazaki, Elden Ring goes beyond simple changes to the game systems. By adding larger and more open environments, he believes that the game will evolve on a greater scale.
“With a larger world, new systems and action mechanics inevitably become necessary. In that sense, I think that Elden Ring is a more natural evolution of Dark Souls.”
“While the narrow and complex dungeons of our previous games were indeed interconnected, Elden Ring’s environments will be much more open and vast. The more extensive world will form the base of Elden Ring’s gameplay, and its mechanics are designed with that type of environment in mind.”
The dungeons of Miyazaki’s previous games were interconnected in the style of a Metroidvania game, but this time there is a vast field between them. According to Miyazaki, the inclusion of such an environment was decided for the sake of showing the story and world on a larger scale, to increase the freedom and depth of exploration, and to create more variation for battles.
You can get around the world on a horse, and you can fight enemies while riding.
Miyazaki wants to offer depth to exploration in Elden Ring in a way that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice did not.
Do not expect vibrant villages and towns. According to Miyazaki, “Villages will be the dark dungeon-like ruins that you have come to expect from us. Creating a more open game is a big challenge for us. If we were to add towns on top of that, it would become a bit too much, so we decided to create an open-world-style game focused on what we are best at.”
Miyazaki studied various open-world games as reference for Elden Ring‘s world, while at the same time not being too heavily influenced by a specific work, to make a game that is true to the DNA of a From Software game.
Regarding the collaboration with George R.R. Martin, Miyazaki said, “It all started with me being a fan of Mr. Martin’s works. A Song of Ice and Fire and its drama adaptation Game of Thrones are both masterpieces. I am also very fond of Fevre Dream and Tuf Voyaging.”
Miyazaki got in touch with Martin for a meeting, which he found to be surprisingly easy to do. From there, the two clicked and Martin was all in for Miyazaki’s idea of making a game together.
According to Miyazaki, Martin did not write the main story of Elden Ring. Rather, he wrote the events that happened long before the era the player explores—in other words, the “mythology” of the world. Miyazaki said that there were two reasons he had Martin write the mythology rather than the main story.
“Storytelling in video games—at least the way we do it at From Software—comes with a lot of restrictions for the writer. I didn’t think it was a good idea to have Martin write within those restrictions. By having him write about a time the player isn’t directly involved in, he is free to unleash his creativity in the way he likes. Furthermore, as From Software we didn’t want to create a more linear and story-driven experience for Elden Ring. Both issues could be solved by having Martin write about the world’s history instead.”
According to Miyazaki, the excitement, drama, and depth in the mythology written by Martin had a major impact on From Software’s creation of the world for Elden Ring.
Miyazaki compared Martin’s mythology to the dungeon master’s handbook in a tabletop RPG.
“The player will be able to learn about Martin’s mythology through exploration. We are known for letting the player explore the game’s lore through fragments of environmental storytelling, and this time around Martin’s story is what you will be trying to unravel. The period the player actually explores is still connected to the old times, so as you slowly discover why the world has become the way it is, you will learn more about Martin’s mythology as well.”
“There is no fixed main character in Elden Ring. We mostly leave it up to the player to decide the characteristics and personality of the character they create.”
Miyazaki believes that Elden Ring‘s NPC characters will be more compelling than his previous works thanks to Martin’s mythology as a source of inspiration.
Dark Souls but Patches will now kick you into a literal shithole.

>But you cannot apply that to breathing mustard gas and eating arsenic.
Because we breath air and eat food, not mustard gas and arsenic. Same logic can be applied to many other animals because we have similar systems.
Much like videogames and imageboards altogether being a stepping stone into cancerous social behavior.
My point is almost everything is a stepping stone into something negative if used incorrectly. Including eating and breathing if you decide to breath mustard gas and eat arsenic. Which is why your point is utterly retarded and why we decided to classify a commonly used fallacy that we were sick of hearing and called it "slippery slope".
You're arguing against the one correct usage for DLCs, which is the practice that used to be called "expansion packs". In practical terms, the money going to expansion DLCs is going to have nothing to do with money spent on cancerous DLCs because we're talking about a developer that doesn't make those.
You might as well argue against even playing videogames because bad practices in the industry being affected by your consumption is as much of a stretch as your glue snorting logic.

I'm sick of this shit. They could do something new, but they keep going back to Souls. This faggot has been making the same damn game for a decade now.

>Not everything has to be explained or spelled out to you. Sometimes mentioning something in the background of a narrative is good just to spark your imagination.
You've entirely missed the point. Sekiro doesn't need more story content, it needs more gameplay content. It's like BB before the DLC had only about half the number of weapons.
Sekiro desperately needs more skills. I mean there's only 3 ninjutsu in the entire game. There needs to be more sources for lapis too. Speaking of which the other "weapons" need lapis tier upgrades too. We need more emblems too.
They don't have to make new story content just give us chalice dungeons or some shit like that.

They're not advocating anything, they're just being contrarian for the sake of it. The board has developed a culture that being against anything popular is by itself a virtue. Fromsoft is popular at the moment so they waste hours bitching about it. If there was DLC they would bitch, if there isn't they bitch.

The The Armored Core games on the PS2 were pretty good, and then went downhill pretty fast when they tried different things without thinking them through. They went with the multiplayer meme in 5 and VD, and that was not the primary audience of Armored Core. It was the primary audience for Chromehounds though and that game is dead!
