Excluding "cinematic soundtracks"

Games with great soundtracks that aren't chiptunes or upbeat electronic tracks, not that there's anything wrong with those.

I notice that most games with good OSTs have a certain sound to them that's very distinctive of video games, so how about OSTs that aren't like that?

The best thing about some video games is that they eschew all the lazy tropes of Hollywood film soundtracks and try to incorporate music actually suiting the gameplay. Too bad that flies right over the head of AAA developers.

I mean, by your example wouldn't a lot of games with dark ambient music fit for the list? "Cinematic" is hardly defining it well, and even excluding ambience there can just be frankly darker soundtracks, not to mention acoustics (dwarf fortress' tracks come to mind there, for instance).
