Since Octopath traveler recently got released on pc it got me thinking, what are other games that use the job mechanic to mix and match party members and classes?
What would you say are the best rpgs/jrpgs released in recent years?

Dragons Dogma is really good in that aspect, unless you dont like action RPG games.
Another example is Divinity: Original Sin, which im playing right now, and im enjoying it. And thats the first one because the sequel I heard is a notable improvement over the first one.

How do I into cRPGs? I'm too brainlet to git gud with them and I don't stick it out very long with them either.

Being able to get into cRPGs is primarily an issue of age and intellect. If you didn't read for pleasure growing up, chances are, your brain just isn't going to be wired in a way that you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of cRPGs. For younger anons who didn't get into gaming until the 2000s, especially if they're the type that are into watching other people play games for them, this is almost certainly the case. You'll crave constant visual stimulation instead of being able to bring simplified visuals and text to life with your imagination.
If you really want to get into cRPGs, start reading books.

Arcanum is great, but it is way too clunky as a starting point. I’d honestly recommend a newer game like Pillars of Poz or Divinity OS2 if the problem is gameplay. They have much more refined and less complex mechanics than the old games or even Pathfinder:Kingmaker. If one insists in beginning in older games, my top pick would be BG1.

Automata is genre defining.
Persona 5 was good apart from some shitty writing.
Playing Octopath atm, about 30 hours in. It's repetitive, grindy, the writing is mediocre and the pacing is bad. Also the difficulty spikes an insane amount once you get to a new chapter.

Nah, this is terrible advice. The appeal of a good CRPG is choice and exploration. Linear literature offers nothing of the sort.
The part about visuals is true, though. You shouldn't rely entirely on graphics for stimulation with a CRPG.

You don't get it. Hatred of cRPGs from brainlets always comes down to:
>i'm bored, there's not enough action!
>muh graphics
>i don't want to read a bunch of text
If you aren't a nigger, getting into literature lets you bypass all of that by training your brain to take whatever limited stimuli is available, be that words on a page or abstracted low-res imagery, and filling in the blanks with your imagination in glorious detail.

If a game is nothing but literature, what is the point? You can have a rich story and lore for your setting, but the game has to be a fucking video game first. Grim Dawn is a decent example of this. It's fun and has loads of reading. Regardless JRPGs > cRPGs
