Are there any good pinball vidya out there? Doesn’t seem like it would be that intense of a genre but after reading some nip reviews of several pinball games I’m getting interested.

Look up snes, ps1, saturn and ps2 japanese pinball games, they're not that hard to miss since there's so few of them.

You can't go wrong with stuff like The Pinball Arcade for quick casual fun, ironically on a realist recreation of an actual table, it's free to download complete with a table in a fuckton of devices, I'm no expert, but I have enjoyed Pokemon Pinball, the one on game boy and the other one on game boy advance, Metroid Prime Pinball, and Battle Pinball on SNES, probably my favorite, Mario Pinball didn't click with me however, maybe I'll give it another go sometime.

I tend to prefer the videogame original made pinball over the purist table recreations however, but they are always fun.

You are welcome, I don't know shit about any of the represented franchises and still have a blast any time I fire it up, so I'm glad you can soak in all the stuff, guess I had luck when the game came packaged with the emulator on a cd all the way back in middleschool.

It's SD midget crap from Bandai for Ultraman, Kamen Rider and Gundam.

If you look on the Switch, there are two pinball games. Pinball FX3 is the most popular one, but it's not perfect. Unfortunately, it runs at 30fps, which is a fucking shame for pinball.

Stern Pinball is a purist game on the Switch, with 60fps, and 100% table and gameplay accuracy, even going as far as literally emulating the ROMs of the real tables to work. I prefer the fantasy tables, to be honest, but 60fps is incomparably better than 30 for pinball. I'll take a lower framerate for some games, but pinball, racing, and FPS absolutely need to be 60 to be remotely playable.

They're both "free" (free download with like 3 tables or something, and you pay extra for extra tables as DLC), so you can try them out. I don't know about any others. I'd kill for something with tables like Pinball FX3 but a properly-developed engine to run 60Hz.

Apparently more now. I haven't looked in a few years, and I should have paid more attention. I haven't played The Pinball Arcade. It looks like Stern with the realistic tables. I like things like Metroid Prime Pinball. That was a fun pinball game.

Every single time this thread comes up you faggots let it slide by bringing up the same 4-5 vidya and never talking about real pins.

Pinball arcade use to be the best around if you wanted to play real tables. They had something like over a hundred and they played really well. I mean they weren't the best. Some of the table goals are almost fucking impossible to complete just because of the physics alone. But they were still fun. Then they lost their license to Bally/Williams tables, lost like 70 to 80 percent of their tables and are now left with some pretty mediocre middle of the road type stuff. So honestly just find a torrent with all the tables unlocked.

Took that last photo myself at a show a few weeks ago

The Pro Pinball series is pretty great as actual arcade pinball simulations and still holds up despite its age. Epic Pinball is also nice albeit a bit bland but those are from the DOS era.

For less serious video pinball you should really check out Naxat's Crash series and Technosoft's Fantastic Pinball which was inspired by these.
