Apparently it's just a port of the 2015 game, but with all the DLC included and a lot of new cards that have been released since then (including the Link Monsters?). Does that really matter when every modern deck can do that? I've seen pendulums whiff more than other decks actually; the minus thing can really hurt their chances of such things.

The summon is weak because its inherently flawed and is reliant on something that yugioh does not allow much anymore; in its inherent state it is a comeback mechanic.

Its a piss poor hand summon at a mighty -2 in its starting state, something much weaker than cards around since its inception. Its a farce to call the mechanic itself strong, it got strong cards to shill it, but the mechanic could not stand up on normal support.

The summon itself is weak; its support is not. Its a ritual type thing.

I've just learned that if you set "Don't Check Deck" with MR3 rules when making a room, you can use old rules (no extra zone bullshit) with MR4-era cards – links included but they don't wall off the extra deck anymore. Probably the best you can get.

The problem with Links is their arrows and especially the back arrows. If you remove them from the center of the field the back arrows become useless and so many Link effects. The Pendulum change was done without crippling how inherently the Pendulum mechanic works. The question is if Links are going to remain or be removed from history. If they remain the zone must remain too and you just must always summon the first Link monster there. The link limitations will probably remain for Links themselves, but the Extra deck will open or be limited as you suggest. Though this opens some combos from earlier and just make things more broken perhaps.

I wonder what would the new gimmick be. Would be nice if we just recover the game, but it is unlikely that they will go with only that. I imagine it is time for Extra Deck monsters combines with spell/trap cards. Or maybe we can go back to fusions and buff them, possible even with the previous idea. Or maybe it will be something simpler with Field Spells becoming a big thing. The anime could be about a series of battle royals on areas with specific effects. I said the issue was being allowed to get to their level 12 not them making it. Every big deck right now fucks this over hard currently and any deck with access to guard dragons shuts this deck down instant they commit to their first summon.

Both synchros are battle effects which can't be performed turn 1 for obvious reason.

The XYZ removal effect is on summon, opponent wont have anything to remove besides the hand meaning you went -3 in hand adv (-2 in overall since I guess you did remove 1 card for your 3) to perform the weakest trishula play in existence (not even a banish so in some deck cases you may have gave them a free set up). And now you're left with a single 2000 Attack 0 Defence monster in the extra zone with no protection because his in built protection needs XYZ materials.

Finally all the main deck monsters graveyard effects end on the end of the turn and they're all battle oriented.

Both spells are battle oriented, see synchros reason.

Their continuous trap is a attack stat effect.

Only their trap is going second but is stupid easy to out.

Only 1 card out the entire main and extra deck line up is suited to going second and the only in archetype way to search it requires having the level 8 Synchro dying by opponent battle or card effect (something not turn 1) (and to do this for a going second play the trap has to survive while it's assumed the synchro is hogging the extra zone due to other effects wanting said situation but this now leaves room for any spell removal to kill this play)

By virtue of 92.4% of the cards shown for the entire archetype being going second focus'd effects I say in full confidence it's made for going second.

Then I played Tag Force 6 with its incomplete but translated enough english patch and they give you Scraps which is pretty good for starting out once you figure out how they work. Okay so the very 1st starter deck is a generic 42 card xyz deck ranging from ranks 2-5 using zombies and cards like Rescue Rabbit, Kegetokage, and Goblindbergh. Doesn't look interesting at all.

And the last deck I must have mixed up for the other starter deck in TF5 somehow oops. this one is a Koa'ki Meiru deck with a few anti-monsters like Fossil Dyna and Rai-Oh, and D.D. Warrior Lady and Assailant.

Out of all of them Scraps are undeniably the best starter, it needs polish ofc but for the most part it gets the job done and nets you wins.

Duel links has skills so basically I use a skill called draw sense low. It was buffed recently so UAs can be used consistently you use it with a combo of cosmic cyclone to take 1000 LP damage so you always draw a midfielder due to the skill letting you draw a monster level 4 or below and the only monster in the deck that’s level 4 is midfielder.

The problem is that trying to build pet decks is so expensive that your better off spending stuff on meta decks.

PvE IS shit, the AI is really fucking stupid, but the game is not. All metas are stupid, but at least this one doesn't end in 1 turn with the enemy or you summoning 7 cards and pretty much destroying anything you could toss at them, while the set up of the first turn takes minutes.

It's part of the theming. Blue Eyes are actually good because Kaiba has the best cards all-around. Dark Magician can't compete with Blue Eyes but that's okay because Yugi lucksacks the exact card he needs at any given moment. I disagree – from my experience, Blue-Eyes has a tendency to brick due to most of the support being for vanilla Blue-Eyes, and Alt-White/Priestess only help so much. Having a lot of LV8s who need something to special summon them can be annoying too, even with Trade-In to help. That being said, at least they have Chaos MAX and Twin Burst. If you ask me, it often feels like out of the three, Dark Magician got the best deal overall (and it's the one I see the most on YGOPRO). Banishment's more annoying to deal with than destruction, and DM has more easy access to it with Dark Magical Circle and their XYZ monsters – but I haven't run one myself so maybe there's some problems I'm not aware of.

Exodia? Well, if you want to run Exodia decks, you need cards that let you draw cards from the deck and such and since Pot of Greed will never leave the banlist, your best bet would be Pot of Extravagance because Exodia decks don't really need an Extra deck (It lets you draw 1 for ever 3 cards you banish face down from the Extra deck, maxing at 2) better than Pot of Desires' banish 10 from your main deck for a +2 (might accidentally banish Exodia pieces). Some good wall and stall cards are also required since you're not going to be attacking while you wait for your Exodia pieces and some backrow removal just in case.

It's gonna take a lot of work being the short version of it.

It slipped my mind that Graydle Dragon needs an Aqua tuner, so I just added Graydle Slime for that. The idea is to use monster effects to quickly summon out Levia Dragon, Poseidra, or an Extra Deck monster, and use Levia's effect to wipe the field, with Gravity Bind and low level monsters with A Legendary Ocean as backup.
