RECENT EVENTS:

>Some faggot claiming to be the same guy who leaked Daisy and Ridley prior to E3 last year on Halfchan came forward prior to the 3.1.0 update and correctly leaked the VR mode along with other shit like Fire Pirahna Plant getting into Mario Tennis Aces, Cadence of Hyrule getting a June release date, and Northgard getting a Switch port along with other shit noone cares about. He doesn't know anything about the DLC at the moment but says he will come forward if he hears anything concrete.

The statue itself is apparently a new design of the character which matches up with other statues that other companies have been producing and it was noticed that the same company made other statues for other characters who got recent revivals such as Crash, Sonic, and Spyro. When the users began discussing what this could possibly mean, the company responded again saying that "They really couldn't say". This could mean a new Banjo game or Banjo as a playable character in Smash, it could be neither and they're fucking with everyone. Again, keep the salt handy.

Honestly Anon, I have no idea. Possibly no indie actually has a chance. Shovel Knights popularity was crazy and he only made it in as an assist trophy and even that surprised a lot of people. That's why I think most of the indies that get posted are ones with a decent sized fan base as really they may be the only ones with any chance even if it's a low one.

I like Minecraft too, I have nothing against it. I think it has been tremendously influential and iconic to video games on the whole, but I just don't think Steve is a good fit for a fighting game and his game itself doesn't have a lot of personality.
Nintendo needs to pick up a lot of slack in properly representing the GameBoy, Super-Nintendo, and N64 consoles. Every Smash Bros. so far seems to jump on the bandwagon of including whatever is recent and popular at the time and as such becomes dated extremely fast due to neglecting pure iconic content.

Neither of these scenarios will happen with the inclusion of Steve.
Literally nobody wants Steve save for a handful of autistic people who were 7 when Minecraft came out, and the devs of Smash would consider him unworthy of having an appearance in the game due to the sheer shittiness of his design.
His design would not appeal to more people since part of the reason Minecraft sold so much is because they distributed it to schools and other such public places as educational software.
Steve is not a gaming icon he is just a placeholder avatar and the mantle of "Microsoft" character that has a true place in gaming would go to Banjo or Master Chief.

"Huge benefit" in what way? The only argument I see for Steve being in Smash is that it would "help sales". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Smash is a game that struggles to sell well. It doesn't "need help" being recognized. As it appeals mainly to gamers, getting Steve in the game would not really help this in any way. The venn diagram of people who would be interested in Smash and people who play Minecraft isn't going to get closer to 1:1. Smash is everything Minecraft is not, it's not supposed to be a casual zen garden-esque single player game where you poke sheep and build castles out of wood. People play the two games for completely different reasons so it would only appeal to a subset of the audience they already have who play both games.
Minecraft sells because it is the most ubiquitous open world sandbox game, it doesn't sell because people really like its characters. It doesn't have any characters whatsoever. No one looks to Steve as a "personality" they love and want to see in more things. Him appearing in Smash wouldn't appease anybody, LEAST of all the majority of Minecraft fans.

Wii Fit is one of the highest grossing "games" on the Wii. Including its characters Smash didn't sell the game to people who played Wii Fit. The only people who appreciated the joke of adding WFT was gamers who already played Smash. The grandmas and soccer moms who bought Wii Fit to stay in shape didn't care that the faceless virtual trainer appeared as a playable character in Smash. It didn't introduce my auntie to Smash who bought a Wii just for Wii Fit. The same is going to be the case with Steve, except even less so, because WFT at least appealed to waifufags. No one at all likes Steve's design, even people who worked on the game. He's not a big draw, and even if he was, the most casual of casualfags who plays Minecraft is only going to play Smash for five minutes before never touching it again.

It'd be fairly easy to do, actually. Make it a shapeshifting Tetris block that reconfigures its indiivdual segments to become any shape from the game, and shoots its pieces out to attack. A "hold" window appears, NES-style, for its up+B, which it teleports to and drops down from.
Side+B is a "tetribeam" based on the effect of getting a tetris line clear from the first game.

ATs were put in as a way for characters like Ray MK III and Saki to be put in the game because they didn't have enough time to be made playable, now they're just used an excuse to not make them DLC, which is the infuriating part. Well, an interview from the main dev of DMC said that he would like it if the DMC games are release on the Switch first before thinking about putting Dante in Smash Bros IIRC. So, he's more or less implying that Soccerguy/Nintendo did meet with him, but nothing came of it because Capcom thinks that the DMC games should be release on the Switch first since there wasn't a DMC released on a Nintendo system ever (Despite the fact that Dante appeared in that 3DS Project Cross game years ago). There's a good reason why a creator wouldn't want their character to be in Smash, and it's not about disgust, or pretty much anything related to business, it's because when your character is put into a game or a crossover, it changes the game, which they would likely play. It's not that the character would be badly portrayed, but rather that it would clash with the game's center ideal and the people that play it would enjoy it less.
People and some creators think about the customer before all else, which is why "ego" is a thing in movie directing or whatever. They don't want their vision tainted, or for it to interact with other visions and taint them.

Yes, all the mainline DQ games are great. 11 is good gameplay wise, and added "Draconian Mode" challenges that make it harder and more fun. I wouldn't recommend 11 for your first one, only because going into the post game ruins the character development of your party. It really soured the game for me. 8 is touted as the best, most well rounded game, with well developed characters, good rpg progression without being too involved, comfier atmosphere, and much better music. Koichi Sugiyama usually does great work on the DQ music, but the music for 11, while good, doesn't stand up to music from the older games. DQ8 is, in my opinion, the best one to be your first one.

III is the best of the original trilogy, V is DQs FFVII, and VIII is babies first DQ. All are nice to play though III has history that you can notice from playing the first two but it's not much of anything, and V is the second in another trilogy but I have no idea how it handles the previous entry. VIII is connected to nothing and is on a ton of different systems but was really good from my experience though kinda felt lacking in the monster raising department.

Do what you want; DQVIII is the only one where the accented translation didn't go too far. DQVIII has shit to make it look better and it has its full scenery but 3DS remake had some of its scenery removed (things like trees) and had a lot of extra content added like more story, new bosses, new outfits, and a new marriage option. With DQ, if you can read and speak Japanese, it's the best option though I guess that rings true for every Japanese game short of Resident Evil.
