If you want damage and support, go for Defender or Corruptor. Defender is more oriented toward support whereas Corruptor is more tilted toward offense.

Neither is cleanly better than the other. Invulnerability boasts the greatest physical mitigation in the game roughly tied with Stone Armor but can do very little in the way of dodging attacks. Shield is a mixture of resistance and defense.

What's your favorite power? Gravity manipulation really makes everything better, for me. I made some water/lightning character at some point I found fun, as well.

Regeneration is my favorite so far. I know everyone else prefers willpower, but I prefer regen's burst heals. Reconstruction can be set up to heal half your HP every 30ish seconds. Dark melee is a very close second favorite. Combine dark melee and regen for Sundowner Mode against anything that isn't an elite boss or higher.

Central auth would not have improved anything, because that's not how people choose their servers. There's 3 i24 servers, and less than 250 people between all three. Pleiades is a server that is populated by trannies and faggots who are afraid of having their feefees hurt and run by a mentally deranged retard. Rebirth is run by a literally who that had a community behind him that caused him to create his own fucking server. /coxg/ was already at less than 70 people on a fucking Friday night (peak hours), and some people didn't want to change from i25 to i24. There are some people who aren't insufferable cunts who know how to keep their trap shut and fly under the radar, so they went back to Homecucking in order to play under i25 because of the casualized bullshit it provided them. Central auth wouldn't have made people switch servers, as I said that's not how people choose their servers, it's all about brand loyalty in this situation.

You could have a central auth with unlimited transfers and rewards for players to play on /coxg/ and the server would STILL be less than 100 people. Face the reality, this is a dead fucking game, the people who would have played this were burned out by other better MMOs years ago, and the limitations of this game make it unappealing to your typical normalfag. The answer to this is no, i25 characters are not restored. The way that it works is that it won't overwrite anything and that reimporting a i25 character into i24 causes the i25 character to be the one renamed. So if you make an i24 character now your character will be completely fine when the i25 characters are restored. Renames are purchasable for free (though you can only have one at a time), so if you want to use your i25 character when the conversion program is completed you can just purchase a rename, use it on your i24 character, purchase another and use it on your i25 character.

I've been loving playing on the /coxg/ server. The people there are very nice, and when people are online there's usually a group or two going anyone can join for running missions. During American hours the server population seems to sit between 30 and 40 players. I think the population will increase slightly over time.

It's not really the end that you have to worry about with AVs, it's their crazy regen and damage. From memory they regen something like 90hp/s on average, and had auto hit attacks. It may be possible although I doubt it to drain them with melee electricity just because of how long the fight would last while solo. But otherwise the drain is really low and not that much of a factor.

The range is set as 10-54 but the set-up - for this mission, at least - is non-standard, since it's about collecting the treasure spawns. The Red Dragon in particular I can imagine shredding most builds until a fairly high level, though recruiting both allies or traveling as a party could help deal with that (though that's a "maybe", since it has a lot of AoE attacks). During testing, I also found that the Space Barbarians get pretty cheeky if they spawn at higher level, and seem to be the toughest standard encounter. The Goblins are pitiful as intended, while the Orcs are tough for minions, but better at taking hits than dealing them. Trolls don't seem like they're a huge problem, but the regeneration might surprise some people.

That's more a limitation with the AE set-up. It lets you choose the most general placement for encounters (front, middle, rear, any), but that's all the control you get. The fun thing about CoH is that almost anything is good or ok. Granted you'll hear a lot about enemies resisting Lethal damage in the late-game but from what I've seen every good set has a way to negate that – through either reducing defenses/resists (which Titan Weapon has) or having a different type of damage on hand.

I would say Titan Weapons are good for brutes since if I remember right, they've got plenty of close-range AoE.

Titan weapons are pretty fun; lots of knockdowns, aoe and its loud as fuck. It even has a resist debuff. Downsides are the extremely slow initial swing with no momentum is like 3-4 seconds long, afterwards you swing really fast until momentum wears off. It's really easy to burn out all your endurance by spamming skills during momentum. You'll also sometimes have long gaps where you aren't really doing anything because you just used all your skills and are waiting on them to come off cooldown, or waiting for a couple more so you can combo them all in one momentum. Finally, you have to deal with redraw if you use any skills that aren't titan weapons specific like fighting skills or even some defensive cooldowns.

Certain factions might have particular units here and there that have player-like resists (such as the Council's werewolf fags). Generally all damage is perfectly viable against pretty much anything. You just have to learn which individual enemies are aimed at shutting down your damage type and figure out a way around them. Chipping away is a valid option.

Scrapper is just 10% on anything that isn't a minion. You can get one IO set bonus that ups it by 3%, and then another that ups it every so often for a few seconds I think.

It's not really lethal damage that fucks over lethal, it's that most of the lethal sets were in the game very early, and have been powercreeped to shit. Pretty sure they even nerfed enemy resists at one point. The only one that is a major concern is Psionics VS inanimates, robots, and non-sentients for obvious reasons.

Solo story is mostly zone story arcs from contacts. Praetoria is probably the most story focused.

Group content is task forces (red side is strike forces) and from 35 on there starts being TFs both sides can run together, like Ancient Rome and shit.

If you want a nice easy to follow grouping of story arcs, after 20 get someone to drop their Ouroboros portal and step in, then fly to the top of the spire in that zone to get initiated and get your own portal power. That’s a time travel area that makes it easy to go do any arcs you may have missed.
