COME PLAY A RARE VARIETY OF MMORPG THAT'S NOT SHIT WITH US
>What is it?
The product of Richard Garriott's and NCSoft's efforts back in 2003. Base game was locked behind a subscription and contained only a limited amount of content, but as time went on, this was remedied through expansion packs. At one point in a development process, the game's balance was fucked up VERY hard, so the consensus between what players there are left is that it's better to play on earlier versions of the game. We are playing on a Classic version of the game, which is almost a 1:1 copy of the game back when it was released.
Server, in which we're playing right now is infested with Brazillians, Chinese, Koreans and Russians, as it is often the case with free MMOs.
>Why play this? Everybody knows that all theme park MMOs are dogshit and EVE is boomer central/spreadsheet simulator/goonhive.
This game is rather unique in that while the base game is a themepark MMO, it forces people to play together to survive in the vast wilderness of the grinding fields - killing people and getting killed in turn is very easy if you have shit gear for your level and even with good gear it is still easy. Every death is a static -4% EXP penalty and on the later levels, generic monsters will only give out around 0.05% of your EXP bar. Quests are more or less useless in that regard, so fast-paced party grinding is the order of the day.
Top spots for grinding and money-making on top levels, however, are usually strictly occupied by powerful clans leveling in big parties that will kill you and take no prisoners in order to rake gigantic amounts of money in materials and make their +10 overenchanted staves into +12 ones. With proper funding made from excessive amounts of grind, however, it is possible for anons to gather one big party, apply copious amounts of strategy to find out ways to better kill the enemy without dying ourselves, have our clan claim the title of TOP JEWS, participate in a castle siege, strategically allying ourselves with BR's/chinks/хаха's, claim the castle to our guild and go around killing niggerfaggots inside previously mentioned grinding spots.
The main draw, however, ignoring most of the bullshit above is killing subhumans together in a big funposting squad. This is a team game and it is wonderful if you can tolerate the truly staggering amount of grind required to get there.

Download a client, make an account on the server - feel free to use temporary e-mail, it doesn't care - make a character and play the game. Using the wiki will be more or less required to learn specific mob loot tables and how to complete class transfer quests. After making a character, either post the IGN in the thread or level to 20 to escape the spam filter and whisper to one of the fags in the clan that can invite you.
If you want to find out what each class is good at in advance, below are some helpful links to the skill lists. Take note that wiki is not exactly completely accurate because this server is running a different version of Classic from the official one.

SERVER INFORMATION
We're playing Classic Club, one of the only servers where L2 is acceptable these days. Other servers either feature a heavy amount of P2W bullshit, have plain higher EXP rates which causes server's cancer population to intensify tenfold or go overboard with something else. Either way, this freeshard seemed to be the best option at the time. I can't find any indication about server's location, but it does offer multiple proxy servers in the connection menu.
Server runs a Lineage II Classic variation - for all intents and purposes it's C1 with some stuff from C2 added on like Alligator Island. Multiboxing is locked behind getting a premium account (which doesn't give anything else other than a cosmetic), which could, potentially, be bought for in-game money - around ~20m for a month or so. The game has an in-built auction house system, which is really glorified server-owned RMT bullshit. It is more or less tolerable though because in this game great numbers + good gear > poor numbers + greatest gear possible.

Even so, it's absolutely not too late to join - we'll supply you with necessary gear that would usually take a fuckton of time to get - maybe even up to B, if you're useful, instruct on how to fuck up Raid Bosses and earn lots of EXP from that and help to grind with our low-level alt characters. My alts are MAXCRAFT, Shekelberg and WEWUZ and we've made a communal PP character recently with IGN MasterRace. I'm going to try to be on almost every day - will make sure to bump the thread with screenshots.

A lot of powerful status effects (paralysis, fear, sleep, slow, poison) - their proc chance is based on player level. Curse Death Link is a spell that grows more powerful the closer a player is to 1% health. Allows summoning of servitors, which are pre-defined summons based on player's class that scale by player level - only one can be summoned at a time. Transfer Pain allows to transfer up to 50% received damage to said servitor. It does not get Clear Mind, a mana-regenerating passive skill that other three mages get.
Necro's two nukes that are not CDL are Vampiric Claw, which is a very mana-inefficient way to self-heal and Death Spike, which, while good for mana requires a consumable worth 360 adena every cast. In addition, only two means of dealing AoE damage are Corpse Burst, which requires a corpse nearby (and fucks over nearby jewsspoilers trying to make money) and AoE Poison which does jack shit in terms of damage - it does NOT have Aura Flash, the best source of AoE damage other 3 classes have. So it's shit for AoE parties - main source of experience past level 60 and very good for PvP.
>Spellhowler
Raw damage. Curse Death Link, some debuffs (slow, sleep, poison), good single-target nuke and an AoE spell that also hits some enemies around the landing area. It hits slower than other mages, but also harder.
>Spellsinger
Opposite of Spellhowler - cast more spells, but deal less damage with them. No access to Curse Death Link, decent single-target nuke, damage spell that decreases enemy speed, damage over time spell, spell that deals more damage up close, AoE spell and Cancellation, which removes multiple enemy buffs - great in PvP.
>Sorcerer
Middle-ground between Spellhowler and Spellsinger, but has access to AoE spells as early as level 40 (as opposed to level 58). Keeps a combination of the two's skills, but has neither of the two's strengths nor weaknesses.

Unofficial but better than the official classic version. It's a long lived shard, i'm not sure what kind as in L2J or some other, with a healthy population. Lineage 2 shards or private servers have always been legal and even more popular than the official version.
It's normal to see hundreds of people running around during siege times, olympiads or peak times, as in actual people not offline shops or boxes. Hard to say for sure but i think between 2 to 5k players, all in a single server so normal MMO population.

No, it's a fan-made server. That is to say, this is not associated with NCSoft and Innova - "official" L2 team. To our knowledge, at least.

Great at pvp and pve, has better mana sustain with body to mind, can tank mobs with a pet, has AoE skills, has CDL which is the best nuke in the game, plus tons of debuffs and 2 CCs.
great tier:

Great at pve, better than the necro when it comes to AoE grinding, but loses somewhat in pvp compared to it. Has body to mind and a vampiric skill, sleep and silence, some debuffs as well.
Decent tier:
-spellsinger
MUH CAST SPEED. has sleep/mass sleep and a buff cancelling skill, has some AoE but no body to mind so a recharger box is highly recommended, especially for a class that specializes in fast casting, meaning more mana lost. In pvp it can be alright, but it just doesn't have necro's versatility or spellhowler's damage.

Let's just say it's the polar opposite of Guild Wars 2, where everyone was a tank&dd&healer combined. In this one there's proper classes, each one with a specified role. There's even a specialization between the support classes, for example 1 can support tanks better and the other 1 is primarily for mages. There's literally no quests worth doing beside the mandatory ones you need to class up, so i wouldn't call it disneyland/themepark/rollercoaster to max level like TERA is.
It can get quite grindy but the point is the people and social aspect, and gearing up/making money. If you come in with the idea of soloing past level 50ish you're gonna have a bad time, in fact i'd recommend to always be in a party since level 20. When you're done downloading and installing post your IGN, we'll fill you in on the rest and help you with gear. It's also a great time to join not only for the event, but because the fucking chinese bugmen declared war on us, so yeah. Fun times ahead.

So I have run into a soft cap on how much money can be made per buy/sell rotation on runes at a time without high rolling incredibly hard. My general rolling strategy looks like this.
>Empty store
>Roll until I have 2 level 3s
>Roll until I have 2 level 4s
>Once store is filled start hard rolling for level 5
>Roll for one 6
>Keep going until 13
The problem is that even though all of the runes sell eventually most of the money comes from othells. I'll get a shop of two 3s and two 4s but will rarely have enough raw othells 1s to get to the first 5. The one time I did get lucky it was instantly followed by a string of extremely unfortunate rune openings where about 30-40% of 1000 sealed runes were aeores. At least it's generating passive value whenever someone buys a non othell while all of the shops slowly tick up in level.

Gear is freaking expensive, CP pot spam exists and bres are 1m each on the market. However, we're ready to cover some gear costs if you play, CP pots won't matter if CC procs (and proc rates are ridiculous on Classic) and if we don't get into serious clan wars bres spam won't matter against us.

IMO anything higher than 10x or with an NPC buffer is a pvp server, in this case it's 15x with 2h buffer.
Before i starter playing club i thought that having an NPC buffer was fucking retarded and made actual buffer classes completely worthless, plus i used to sell buffs myself with my pp back in the day so i took pride in what i did, but after seeing how everyone is buffed anyway and there's always the shared box i realized buffs were a base part of the game and said fuck it, give me ALL the buffs, for 2 fucking hours.

So i googled hopzone and chose literally the first server on the list: Arion. It's 15x with like 10x adena and 2x spoil or something, all buffs with alt+b, shop up to mid C grade for weapons and jewellery and top C armor, and teleports to pretty much everywhere. Plus 1 free box.
Now here's what's funny: it's a money grab of a server, basically it's the same guy that opens the same server with 3 different names on a cycle and has been doing it for years, and people still fall for it. They hear "Grand Opening!" and all the hype surrounding this """new""" server, drop thousands of dollars on it, and the server closes after 3 months like clockwork. This one i'm playing on is scheduled for an update soon which will introduce the winged fucks or something, but the """new""" server opened by the same guy opens before that, so it's a double money grab. It's funny really, there's rampart botting, the same guy has been spamming his shitty RMT website for a week now without getting banned and the admin even left the OFFICIAL discord advertized on his website. It's basically a sinking ship but at least i can play a class and level it to 76 in a day, i can annihilate the random BRs without having to fear dying because 4% is 4 mobs, nobody gives a shit about anything and there's no clan drama, and it's pretty much a mad max version of club. And it's gonna close in 3 weeks.
I'm fine with it really, i'm used to losing all my progress, feels like playing a league of path of exile.
Anyway in club news: the madmen of venom managed to get 2 members of beek banned as they had video proof of them abusing bugs to kill high level raid bosses (glitching them outside the map). Now beek's hurting butt redness can be observer from space and the members of the ISS are having a blast researching it. They're calling it "cheating bugman fag syndrome", and the symptoms include: being BTFO by pasta cunts, spending 6 million WON worth of money on virtual gear only to have it disappear, and being a huge fucking faggot that got what you deserved.
