>games where you can create your own class
>exactly like WoW
>games that predated WoW
>"exactly like WoW"
Really pumping up the baka, aren't ya? If your definition of "game that's just like WoW" is "run here, then engage in combat" then sure, strip away all the fundamentals of the games and ignore them for the most simplistic comparison. But that's wrong.
Rift allows you to change classes, and has very different class dynamics.
City of Heroes lets you build your own superhero using combinations of powers, including extraneous powers you can select from power pools. It also predated WoW.
Everquest predated WoW, and WoW tried to replicate Everquest. However that's only the combat, and the faction system for Everquest is something unique that's never been replicated. You ought actually research this if you want to argue this point.
EVE Online and Elite Dangerous are both space games.
Final Fantasy XIV has level scaling, allows you to change classes on the fly, and allows you to mix and match skills and abilities from your classes. It also has a prestige class system, which WoW WANTED to implement but never managed to.
Guild Wars 2's mechanics are so different from WoW that only a retard would say they're "the same."
Anarchy Online is a cyberpunk dystopian first-person shooter that predates WoW.
Legend of Darkness is a player driven political and religion MMO with so many things that are unique to the game alone that I won't even try to explain it.
PokeMMO is literally Pokemon.
Champions Online has a freeform hero building system that lets you build your ideal character using virtually any combination of abilities and even playstyles.
Conquest Online is a Diablo-style MMO.
Path of Exiles is too.
Vanguard (which is what I meant to say) is a PvP focused MMO that concentrates on largescale field combat instead of raids and single target fighting. Can also be linked with Lineage 2.
Warhammer 40k is 40K.
Final Fantasy XI predates WoW, has many classes including prestige classes, and is the very first console MMO. Is the first MMO to offer full controller support, and focuses on Final Fantasy boss fight combat, which means that it focuses on group combat and long play encounters. Comparable to a Persona game.
DaoC might be a valid comparison to WoW.
Runescape .. need I say more?
Ultima Online is one of the oldest MMOs mentioned on the list, and is most definitely not "exactly like WoW"
DC Universe Online and Black Desert (which I had considered mentioning) both have skill-based combat which doesn't rely on auto attacks, players can't just set the game to battle mode and walk away, every fight is controlled by the player using the mouse buttons and their skills using the numeral keys. Not like WoW at all.
