I have 2 sd2vita adpaters, one of the shitty 50c v1 designs from ebay and a newer, higher quality one. Every time I try to install the sd2vita driver, it never seems to work properly. I have the other plugins and my taihen config is in ur0, but I have never gotten either adapter to set up properly, it doesn't recognize it and asks to format the card. Is it some specific issue with original model systems, or am I just a mega-retard? Could both of my adapters be defective?

>>16414441

Right now, all I can ask is for your taiHEN config to be put on Pastebin, or somewhere to validate, and if it's actually seeing the adapter as needing formatting, and not the internal storage.

So is it worth buying a vita now or is it too much of a headache to deal with the problems that gimped the system in the first place and I should wait for emulation?

Nurse Love Syndrome has been made available recently on Vita. It's a yuri VN (with over 24 endings) which gives somewhat a good realistic side of the nurse job despite the diabetes-inducing cute characters if you're aware of the previously translated sequel, Nurse Love Addiction, you know how weird and nasty things can be on certain routes

>>16414752

You have sd2vita adapters and vitashell to replace respectively the proprietary memory cards and the official content manager app, which were the two biggest thorns of the system. The OLED model still need an official memory card (4gb) to setup the hack while the Slim and PSTV have their internal storage.

If I boot like this it gives the "you need to format your memory card" message, and it only shows for the sony memcard, not even registering the sd2vita. If I hit cancel on that prompt or just boot without the sony card the settings show no memory card in. I did the standard writing zzblank.img / exFat fs to the sd card. I've also tried Switch SD2Vita https://github.com/Applelo/SwitchSD2Vita/ but no luck there either. >Physicals are the only thing worth buying

I'd argue there isnt much a point anymore, since the sd adapter takes up the game card slot (just like a R4 card for DS). The whole point of buying physicals on Vita was fueled by the precious and expensive storage.

I used to own a large collection of imported physicals, but I'm sacrificing nearly all of them in order to contribute in sharing from the JP PSN store though since that's more of a niche thing than sharing EU/US stuff vita DLCs, PS1 classics, and PSP eboots. I still do keep physical releases of games that either got delisted from the PSN store or physical-only releases (like the 2-in-1 cards, such as EU Rayman Collection, Sly1&2 and Chaos Head Dual)

c8fc9d  No.16421141

>>16421096

Doesnt help that you can only buy JP stuff off their store with a prepaid card that only Play-Asia does reliably and fast, but at a much higher converted rate (5000円 for 48 eurobucks, 10k円 for 94€) than what it should be.

It's too bad that DLCs rarely go on sale there because some games are filled with them to the brink, especially Koei Tecmo musou games or the lewd games like Dream Club Zero, Estival Versus, Reco Love, etc

>>16421112

I wasnt too attached of my physicals to be honest, except EDF2 (one EU and two JP physicals from a dual pack) and EDF3 Portable, but that's mostly because I'm a big fan of this serie. There is a JP limited edition of htol#NiQ I might consider to keep too because I like the cute girl with antlers. Her game was okay albeit a bit frustrating at times.

But the lack of manuals in nearly all cases (with the mere exception of Little Busters, EDF, and Marvelous/Experience games) and the amount of patches that games may require, didnt bring in Vita physicals a lot of value for me otherwise.

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. Japanese DLC's are rather underrepresented on NPS but I'm confident it's only a matter of time. The maintainer eventually will start hunting those down too. I hope.

I'm trying, within my budget, to lower the amount of JP games with missing (or an incomplete listing of) DLCs so that others could focus on what's remaining afterwards.

>How's that on Vita anyway? It would be neat if the baseball minigame were its own thing. I'd pay for it.

It's a pretty good version (touchscreen is available for everything including minigames), but I sure dont remember any baseball mode available in the main menu however. It's also one of the early Vita releases, which mean the cartridge has its own save slot.

I recall the PSP version was english-patched (which is very similar to the Vita version) and there were pics going around of an official english translation on Vita that went absolutely nowhere

Didn't expect it but I still had to ask. Don't know about the PSP version but I believe that translation kickstarter might have had the Vita version as a goal or something, not too sure since I have not really been following it. My friend got it on steam but they did the same CG cropping thing as with Muv Luv. There are many Japanese dumps but there's even more Japanese games on it, especially lots and lots of kusoge VN ports. A long time ago, there was this weird-ass japanese only, 360 exclusive that was cero z. It only came out on the PS3 in 2013. I found out it released on the psvita, in a dual release with the lovey romance sim that came out for it. The vita version is thankfully uncensored, the PSP version is censored, which is why I never cared for it.

How you negroes doing. Despite the PSN sale going on, I'm looking to get phsyical games. Checking locally, Gaymestop has some nice prices for used games(vita games are on carts, so its not too bad), as does craiglist have lots of vita games from time to time. If any of you are looking to collectfag to play, not to have on the shelf, local is really good.

Depends entirely on where you live. Where I'm usually at, selection isn't entirely bad, though varies widely on the store (and most is still just copies of western shit no Vita owner particularly wants, like uncharted, assassin's creed, and little deviants), and trying to encounter various limited print only games is a crapshoot (but I have seen some). Visiting some family right now though, and there's just fucking nothing here. This part of the state seems to be absolute shit for games anyhow; just two Fucking Gamestops, a number of pawn/picker places with next to no vidya let alone worthwhile Vita games, and the nearest town with something more than a Gamestop is a good hour by freeway (and that one's the only one in said town). Kind of odd lack of vidya here, especially older games, for what I'd consider a hipster state, but I suppose maybe they're more relegated to the bigger cities, whereas this part I'm staying in is a good three or so hours out. Did find a cart of Avalon Code for the DS for $10 in checking a store before leaving the town I'd flown into though. Place had nothing of interest for the Vita, or most systems though. In short though, I appreciate where I live when it comes to vidya and such, as I can even find niche stuff, and not even at horrible prices if luck's on my side, and sadly not everywhere is like that. For places like this, I suppose it'd be a case of having to put up with the trade off of higher prices for a wider net in online purchases, if one didn't CFW the system and just pirate away at this point.

Near my gaymestop there was a lot of stop, most of the anime-eqse games ran for 15-20 dollars, while western stuff was running for ten. I will most likely stick to importing, ebay and play asia when I run my local area dry :^). And, yes I do pirate, but I'd like to have some phsyical copies of games Ive played and liked. I was never too big into collecting for collecting sake, but I dont mind buying games if they are cheap. Games I'm focusing on getting are anything I can get my hands on around this time. Tax refunds are coming soon, and the vita stuff is likely to go up in price due to recent interest. The news about 3.70 and production ending do that, but modoru helps assuage the costs.

CERO Z is much more about violence, and possibly covers darker adult sexual themes too, but actual nudity is already a hard-no with CERO anything. CERO Z is also, notably, the only CERO rating with legal restrictions on purchase in that you must be 18 or over, and also online you can only buy such games with proof-of-age such as credit card. Yes that means CERO D which covers plenty of naughty stuff doesn't have hard selling restrictions. I'd assume most shops would voluntarily refuse to sell these to minors but there's no obligation that they do.

Local EB Games shops usually have a couple of mainstream Vita titles. But there's another local shop that actually has a shelf for them, mostly EU copies but a few are US imports. As far as my foreign games I've imported just one, and the rest are digital with the gift card hack-around.

It may be because of the retarded way vita handles patches. Nothing gets replaced, but rather put in different folders with a changed load order. All the bad code they patched is still there on your card, unused and bloating up space.

I know for a fact that you can delete one file from akibastrip2's main folder after you patch it, and can thereby save one gig of space because the system doesn't read that specific file any more, because it has a replacement in the patch folder.

You could probably experiment more with this to save space.

>>16425984

It's not retarded as long as you don't need to make huge updates and the majority of those should be DLC. It only mostly breaks down with unofficial mods, and only when the game itself doesn't have ways to look for alternate files like SKSV. Also while you can delete the originals, it's a bad idea unless you're really pressed for space. At least back them up to PC first.

>>16425837

Noire is a slow burn. You're safe to play it on hard mode, since the fellows from St!ng did the gameplay—it's what you expect of a Neptunia game. Seemingly stacked deck against you only until you get hang of the mechanics and proceed to steamroll everything, and then a rather painful slog if you're the type to go for trophies (as usual, the Lily related trophy is fucking tedious to obtain).

MC is an unobtrusive standin for anyone that wanted Noire as the waifu, harmless milquetoast.

The girls are fun, but they usually are in Neptune games. Loli cornering Noire about sex questions is god tier hilarity.

Localization isn't the best. NISA tier, through and through.

Isometric TRPG it's pretty fair, and actually one of the more challenging Nep games.with good waifus and overkill grinding. 7/10 would nep again needs more Blanc scenes tho.

I used to buyfag despite all the pushiness to jailbreaking, like maybe 80-90% of my games are owned. But again, Sony censorship made that a regret, even if it ultimately hasn't tainted Vita.

Also again, the main issue is that the system's largely EoL without many new games, and there isn't a lot you can't say that hasn't already been. Plus, at least we sometimes do do game talk. Yeah. I used to be hardcore against it myself—any little bit to help devs out & maybe get hardware execs to pull their heads from their asses. I always suspected it was never so easy but I figured at least devs deserved rewards for their hard work at minimum. The situation turned out to be exactly that.

The execs don't give a rat's ass and dance to wherever popular opinion sways, the investors give even less of a fuck so long as their check comes in at quarter three, and devs have to take it in the ass while the first two split up their customer base over people who barely buy or play games. On top of what you mentioned (less of an EoL, and more of a deliberate cutting of an artificial life support), as well as Switch itself slowly gaining the Vita library…well, I still obviously play my Vita, and will continue to do so. I'm beyond attempting to support or garner support for shitheads, though.

I maintain though that most the devs don't deserve this fallout. None of this shitstorm is their fault, and it shouldn't be their responsibility. Fortunate that they're all eyeballing the Switch even more.

I'd be wary about hailing Nintendo and the Switch as the savior platform for jap games, since I still have vivid memories of the 3DS/WiiU days. The root of the policy problem didnt exactly come from Sony itself but more from the current state of america and its politics, and nonetheless there is the threat of every large business wanting a part of the chingchong pie these days.

Also while it sucks to get hit by censorship, I cant honestly say I look forward to more lewd games on other platforms, if it means they get shitload of DLCs like it was the case on Vita (D3 Publisher, Kadokawa and Marvelous took a guilty pleasure in doing this). Ive looking for a nep game that wasn't the main 3, and I like Noire, so I get a nice excuse either way. By the way, the back of the box calls gamindustri "gamarket". I played the RB games with translation patches, so I never encountered this. Is that what its really called in the post RB1 translations.

>>16435750

For me, the Switch is not a nice transition from the Vita(this is related mostly to issues I have with the hardware). As far as I've observed, their censorship applies to anything they develop or coproduce. Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Mirage Sessions being a big case of this.

Stolen from Nepgen.

>I've heard of bad translations in the Neptunia games, care to tell me more about it?

Translation Statuses are:

HDN, HDN Mk2 and Victory: NISA cancer.

Re;Birth 1 and V-II: Translation is alright, no worries from these ones.

Re;Birth 2: Not obviously bad at the start, but gets much worse as it goes along: in particular Neptune and Ram were screwed hard during localization. However, there is a Re;Translation made on our very own board (see above links).

Re;Birth 3: Better than the original NISA translation in Victory but still quite a lot of cancer. Main game has been retranslated, translators still required to translate DLC content.

All of the spin-offs: Varying translation quality. These range from cancer to mediocre. Recent releases have been somewhat better overall.

That said the rule of thumb is to at least have Japanese voices. Even a hopeless like me can pick up on errors.

The interesting thing is, TheFlow said this will be his last work for the Playstation Vita. Sony will very likely put effort this time, since there is a supply of physical carts out there in the hands of publishers. It is limited, and will run out, but it would be low effort since Sony knows what the vuln is.

I do have a question, for going forward. Could someone transfer a psp game to someone else's vita, and then run the exploit that way? I haven't ever tried CMA between my two vitas before.

You can only QCMA backup/restore between systems linked and activated to the same PSN account. I used an old 3.68 Vita for accessing PSN content when PS3 access was broken on my main system. I think the Account ID (the xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx bit) is shared across systems linked to the same account so the same Trinity should work, but if not, do it fresh for each. It's a bit more hands-on than most Vita hacks to be sure, HENkaku was something special.

>The interesting thing is, TheFlow said this will be his last work for the Playstation Vita.

He probably said that with thinking that the Vita no longer in production worldwide = no more gaems thus no more firmwares. I mean sure, the window release for the system is becoming more and more a desert, but the japanese users are still getting a baseball simulation from Konami and the sequel of Coven & Labyrinth from Nippon Ichi Software. JP PSN sometimes release new PS1 Classics titles, although I doubt this triggers new firmware versions.

I wouldnt take hacking devs word for granted either.

Also I should ask if there is any plans to pirate (or "preserve") the official PocketStation plugin for Vita. Some JP PS1 Classics make use of it (MGS Integral, IQ Final, R4 Ridge Racer for instance) and a few of those games only work on Vita livearea not Adrenaline. It's probably far too niche for hack devs to give a shit but doesnt hurt to ask.

>>16441955

I don't know of any, but the fact is, while it technically can be pushed to 500/333, no official game does it, and it's likely that they aren't supposed to. Personally I'm happy on 444/333 with most games and that is intended. Obviously any high forced scaling will hurt the battery life.

If you're worried, make it 100% clear to them that if they aren't listening to the PSA from the fucking hack's author that it's their fault if they can't hack their systems. Glad to hear it, anon. Remember that PSTV has some differences that you can take advantage of - starting with that nice little USB-A port you can use for storage. If you're wondering how you can sync your controllers if you got a flash drive there, simply either:

1) turn off system fully, pull out usb and plug controller in, sync, turn off again and put usb drive back

or 2) use a pairing tool in your PC to pair the controller with the corresponding MAC address so that you don't need to reboot the PSTV

You can also get an USB hub, alternatively.

Aside from that, make sure to get the whitelist working.

I see that the PS1 Spyro and Crash games have NPS uploads. Would those work copied straight over to a CFWed Vita, or do you have to go through some workarounds since both series were removed from the Vita's whitelist for PS1 games prior?

>>16449050

Had that happen before on my PSP with stuff like GBAtemp. Usually just affects certain areas, and the background can chug trying to keep up when the player moves. PS1 incompatibilities are more related to unofficial eboots running on POPS. I've met so far those issues more in western games (like Heart of Darkness or Bugs Bunny Lost in Time) than jap releases. Since the Vita's PSP module works differently from a real PSP, you cant use POPSLoader to shift to another emulator version.

The sole PS1 Classic on JP PSN I found that isnt officially supported on Vita (for a reason unknown) is Noel Not Digital, which I recently shared on NPS (alongside of Noel 3) for completion's sake.

I tried to hack my vita but didn't work. Here's what happened.

I correctly installed trinity and proceed to put henkaku and Vitashell on the system, It worked. Then tried to install vpks on it. But the vpks won't install, instead a error would appear. The worst part is after that i connect the Vita to my PC, both Trinity and Vitashell won't work (Trinity asking me to install the application again, and Vitashell giving me a "File is corrupted" error respectably) and my memory card will format after a reboot and all my stuff will delete.

I don't know much about this stuff and i really want to play stuff on my vita and don't pay for it. Please help.

Start over by restoring vita to factory setup with recovery mode.

Remember that Trinity should only be used to immediately downgrade to 3.60 or 3.65 in order to use more permanent hacks. Clock's ticking - once Sony pushes a new update that blocks psn access it'll be too late.

In short:

Restoring to factory is basically reinstalling the same firmware and wiping shit out, so it should work normally after that. Reading your procedure again:

>I correctly installed trinity and proceed to put henkaku and Vitashell on the system, It worked. Then tried to install vpks on it.

Sounds like you're not downgrading yet. The only vpk you should be installing while on 3.70 is modoru (trinity gets you HENkaku and Vitashell from its execution already).

The modoru readme mentions disabling your plugins and rebooting (steps 3 and 4), but you don't need to do this since you're on 3.70 with no plugins. What you need to do is:

>get Trinity running, have it install HENkaku w/ vitashell

>enable unsafe homebrew option in settings->henkaku settings

>download modoru, ftp it to vita, install it

>get the PUP you want copied to the memcard via ftp or vitashell USB

<(previous two steps in this order, because if you install modoru after copying the PUP, it'll be deleted)

>use modoru to downgrade

Then you can follow a 3.60 or 3.65 guide to get enso up and running.

Vita is really straightforward, to be honest… At least now. Switch on the other hand is laid with e-fuses (still got a nice fusée-able model thankfully), 3DS had several stages of basic meh exploits to full control (and a big dose of shitty scene drama to add on that)…

The early days of vita hacks were cumbersome, though. Remember the email read/write hack? lol

>>16452517

The very last batches of Vitas have a factory firmware higher than 3.65, so while they are hackable, they don't get the handy coldboot enso exploit. If you get one of these, I'd recommend keeping it as a 'legit' system, or sell it to get another one.

ba5b60  No.16452647

If you're already on 3.65 there's no particular issues with staying on it since it supports enso. Downgrading to 3.60 should let you use the browser exploit again in the scenario that something gets fucked up, so it's mostly a judgment call on your part.

I went through most of the 3DS stuff. Gateway wasn't too hard to do, but all of the major jailbreaks between it and sighax were a clusterfuck, especially A9LH, and prior to that you had to be careful as far as updating and using eShop and such. It's ironic that despite the much tighter security that most of the Vita stuff has been pretty streamlined. Trinity's about as annoying as it's gotten.

>>16452630

I explicitly say it isn't worth it but not why. Supposedly one or two plug-ins don't work but also if you need to set up the jailbreak again, you need a PC with 3.65, whereas 3.60 can use the web browser. But your 1GB internal storage or official memory card should have the necessary recovery tools to begin with.

For the illiterates that joined us, RTFM and learn to shift click in explorer. If vitashell dissapears after you downgrade to 3.60, what worked for me was going to the Henkaku website holding R1. That will get you Molecularshell again which then you can install vitashell with.

Random fag who was stupid enough to buy a vita with 3.69 FW so he could only jailbreak his vita a few days ago here.

Since I hacked my vita, when I turn it on from standby it sometimes throws an error about memory card was removed and it has to reboot (I didn't remove the card, obviously). This never happened before. Any idea why could it do this? It seems to happen more often when I leave my vita in standby for a few hours, but once it happened after 5 seconds, so that's not the only thing.

Second, sometimes after a reboot, apps (almost everything other than the built-in vita apps) start throwing C1-2741-4 errors on startup and refuse to start. Only rebooting fixes the issue.

Installing PSP games as EBOOT files is possible. It allows to install games faster and make them take less space. However, you will need to install the npdrm_free plugin to make them work.

To install PSP games as EBOOT files, just add the following line to your config:

ntrboot is only part of it. The other major part is that the boot ROM (which is actually read-only, unlike Switch which allows patches) had two major bugs. PSP in eboot format also have access to digital manuals. It's still weird that the pirated PS1 eboots dont have that access too despite using the same tool. I know there is a plugin out there that dumps the manual pages as jpeg files into your Vita/Adrenaline, but that's not the same thing.

>>16457643

Consider a Switch if you want to play jap games in english without dealing with current Sony America. I still value the Vita to be superior in library, especially if you can into moonrunes + PSP/PS1 offerings, and in size factor although there are claims of new hardware revisions, one being more focused on the "handheld" part rather than the hybrid thing

Switch and Vita hacking development is at different steps. Switch requires entering RCM mode and checking if your model is exploitable. Vita is hackable with all models but requires certain downloaded titles and an activated vita, which could lock people out if sony decides to send out an update to access the PS store.

The OP has all you need to know for Vita. There are a few things that have triggered PSN bans such as the trophy hack but nothing I document has led to mass-bans, and for what it's worth mine's been through all phases of breaking and still has PSN though I don't do online play.

For Switch, the critical bit is manufacture date due to the paperclip jailbreak, no idea if there's a soft-hack yet. I haven't broken my Switch yet just because I want the scene to stabilize and I haven't played it for ages either, but there is https://switch.hack.guide for that. Last I checked ban risk was high for pirated games so be wary of that.

For 3DS, https://3ds.hacks.guide is the starting point, but be aware freeShop is instant ban now and I'm not privvy to where you get games nowadays, haven't played my 3DS lately much either. All models are breakable with ntrboot and you can get flash cards with a toggle switch for that.

I love the irony that people have to ask in a Vita thread about Nintendo consoles.

Reminds me, was there ever an actually given reason for while Brave Fencer Musashi never got a digital rerelease in the west? I mean, obviously I wouldn't recommend giving Sony or Square money for it at this point if they had, but it's just something that's always struck me as odd, given the game seemed to have really good reception here and supposedly sold pretty well back in the day (I'd wager the FFVIII demo disc helped a bit) even if it didn't get a Greatest Hits reprint. And I know in Japan they got a rerelease, along with SaGa Frontier 1 and 2 (which likewise are absent from western PSNs). Maybe the voice acting and whatever rights or licensing is involved kept it off ours?

That seems like it could be something since you hear a lot of 90's western VAs in The English Version of BFM ( (((Steve Blum))) before he got the role of Spike). - You cannot use multiple storage plug-ins! If you actually have USB storage and SD2Vita, you need to use storagemgr which can mount multiple devices, but that's not very useful anyway since only ux0: is used for Vita games. You can only tell Adrenaline to look on a different partition.

- Move all plug-ins to ur0:tai/ (except Adrenaline of course) and fix their paths.

- Comment out kuio.skprx it's not used for anything you've shown there.

- Move download_enabler.suprx to last.

After procrastinating for 3 weeks i finallly got around to beating UPPERS!, so i'm gonna post my thoughts about the game in case the guy doing our recommendation chart decides to include it.

The gameplay and animation are really good, this surprised me because Bullets, the company who made this game, also made the Kenka Banchou series RIP in otome and i didn't like those games, they felt clunky as shit and the combat was unsatisfying, UPPERS! however has a lot of polish, you can tell this game had a decent budget. Anyway, gameplay mechanics, you have weak (square) and strong (triangle) attacks, partner swap (left/right on d-pad), a taunt (up on d-pad), super mode (down on d-pad), UPPER RUSH attacks (trigger you super mode then beat up someone until the last hit of your combo triggers a special animation, you'll be asked to press a face button in order to do a special attack and you'll have to mash it in order to increase the damage, you can also press left/right to bring out your buddy and have him beat on the enemy), a guard (hold L, it only works for frontal attacks, if you want to block/dodge from any side you'll have to press L at the right time) and a dodge/sidestep (X) that works as a homing attack if you send an enemy flying with an attack and press X twice. There's environmental attacks like throwing explosive barrels, wall running and kicking enemies, using street poles to do flying kicks, knocking enemies to cars so they blow up, vaulting over stuff and hitting people, smacking them into pillars, throwing them into a sewer and uppercutting them to neon signs/a fucking helicopter. You can take any two characters to any mission after you've cleared it at least once, these characters include: a child idol/model, a pretty boy who gets bullied in school until you help him and he repays you by starting an ethnic cleansing later in the game, a wrestler, 2 dumb yankee brothers, a black (?) guy with an afro, a drunk old man who suspiciously looks like ranma (the main character), a chinese action movie star, not-majima the rocker/psychopath with long hair and the villain, kujo mukuro. Their moveset is wildly different, for example the sole playable girl unless you grab the DLC, which adds daidouji from SK has breakdancing on her strong attack, not-majima has a spinning lariat and the drunk kind of bonks people on the head, they all have the same throw and upper rush attacks though, only ranma's are different.

The QUEENS system is interesting, basically you pick one girl (out of 8, these are: your childhood friend, your best friend's little sister, a girl who runs a gym, knows how to cook and has a fetish for muscles, a slutty reporter, a high class whore/escort, a dorky secretary who has a thing for thugs/bad boys and the fun loving gyaru who runs the clothing shop because her grandmother is too sick to do it anymore, you even escort her to the subway when she goes to visit her sick grandma) and she gives you various passive boosts (all of them related to your various attacks) and if you die in battle you will be sent flying towards your queen and land on her breasts/crotch, this will fully heal you and put you in the UPPER RUSH state, the downside is that it's more or less once per battle, the second time you get sent flying towards the girl she might slap you away and you'll die. The more you take the girls on missions the more fondness they'll have for you and once you max out their affinity you'll have 5 different passive boosts and unlock their base outfit for every other girl to wear plus a special outfit also for everyone to wear. Pic related are the only girls i liked, fuuka is the girl ranma was gunning for the whole game. Shit taste, matsuko and karen would make better wives.

There's also the love letter system, basically you do random things for the spectating girls and you get a random bonus (healing, attack boost, defense boost, invincibility, upper rush meter), their panties and a letter if you manage to impress them/flip their skirt, once you get their letters you can view their model in your apartment (it's implied you invite them over and undress/fuck them), but it's pointless because there's only 5 different models, the only variation is the hair/skin color.

Now for the story, it's serviceable, i certainly wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking out of a beat em up but the game left many things unanswered and it ended in a very disappointing way.

The plot kicks off with ranma and michiru playing gacha mobage in a corner while they lament their lack of popularity with girls, but it isn't until ranma spots a cute girl with glasses that he tells michiru they're wasting their youth on games and that they should aim to become the strongest on the little island they live in, that way they would get popular and have tons of girls at their beck and call. So they start beating up random thugs on the streets until they run into glasses girl who tells them to stop unless they want to get their shit kicked in by their father, who is currently the strongest man in that island. They don't care in the slightest about that, and now they have a clear goal: beat up said girl's father so ranma can start a relationship with her. But along the way they meet many people who mainly serve as roadblocks, you help them sort their shit out but it mostly doesn't matter since they don't appear again after their arc is done, the only relevant characters are glasses-chan, her father and the drunk. Said drunk looks a lot like ranma and has the exact same animations as him, even though they're not related Or are they? They never even brought it up, but i think he might be either his real father or uncle, and he used to be friends with the villain and ranma's father, whose face isn't shown. The three friends built the island (they wore black suits back then and mukuro still wears a flashy white suit, so they're either businessmen or yakuza) and meant for it to be a paradise for strong people, but something happened and ranma's father died, hiroshi coped by becoming a drunkard which is why i think he was related to ranma's father and mukuro turned their home into a normal island and put himself at the top. Thing is, they don't do anything interesting with this info, since ranma outright tells the villain to shut up with that old man shit and let their fists speak, and the game ends with ranma beating up mukuro, taking fuuka with him (he also won the island, but told mukuro he only wanted his daughter) and then realizing that he may have won her hand, but not her heart. So he fights michiru in order to earn it? And then when you win the two start bickering about who got the most bruises while completely forgetting about fuuka. The game had such a nice buildup only to fall flat at the very end, i thought you were going to get help from all the people you helped and storm mukuro's tower, but no, you beat up a few underlings and his secretary tells you to go meet him at the top. The penultimate chapter is merely five missions long, 2 of them are the standard "beat X enemies", the other two you fight hiroshi, one with ranma and the other with mukuro, and the last one has you fighting mukuro with ranma. The last chapter consists of a single mission, which is fighting michiru with ranma (i would have gotten a SS rank if any of the girls dropped a single love letter, but they didn't even though i fulfilled all their requests), and that's pretty much it, there's no epilogue that tells you what the other characters did with their lives or what the main characters did after gaining ownership of the island, it just ends with ranma and michiru hauling their bloody asses to the gym showers in order to compare scars. Oh and the soundtrack is great, but some of the better tracks aren't in the jukebox at your apartment.

All in all i'd say it's definitely worth playing (it's kind of short anyway, i recommend you play it on hard mode because in normal you could probably beat the game in half the time) and i rate it a 8/10 because the gameplay is fun and i loved how over the top it was, sadly we probably will never get a sequel that explains who ranma's father was, what the original plan for the island was and what became of mukuro after he retired.

What? It's a shit story, and it takes out shit from the previous games like aragami bullets and shit. That's not to mention it's half the game in comparison to regular, and how halfassed they threw in the monsters.

If you want to play the games, go for 2 first. You get the original alongside 2 when you get it, so you get a decent amount of shit to do. For Vita standards, they're pretty fun timesinks. Very fucking easy to break the game towards the end with specific guns and bullet combinations.

In the meantime that the NPSv3 gets its shit fixed so I could upload the Vita DLCs + psp games, I tried a bit of Vita game modding with the FFX PS2 soundtrack mod and the Danny soundtrack mod for Super Meat Boy, and both work wonders. But more specifically I'd like to be able to restore CGs of visual novels that got affected by the recent Sony's policy. It's not really a translation project and the purpose isnt really to port over sex scenes from the PC version, but more to make the recent VN releases what they were supposed to be on console pre-policy wise.

>Full Kiss

>Haruoto Alice * Gram Snow Drop

>Soi Kano ~Gyutto Dakishimete~ (no dump present yet on NPS)

I havent found the CG gallery for Suki to Suki to de Sankaku Ren'ai so I could compare if the Vita/PS4 got censored by the policy

The problem is that while I have the motivation for the task, my experience as an actual editor amounts to zero.

For example I've done the steps to decrypt game assets from the console, as the first pic related stated on, but things dont look different than when I originally downloaded the game from the NPS browser i have zero idea how I'm supposed to read the hex so this should tell you my level of inexperience.

FullKiss files are in psarc extension, and Haruoto Alice*Gam has three primary files in root.pfs ('roots.pfs', 'roots.pfs.000' 'roots.pfs.001')

I tried Your Diary+ demo (which was released on JP PSN today), and it looks like this visual novel isnt censored, but final judgement should be reserved to the full product that comes next month. Just like I hope Yumeutsutsu Re:Master avoids the policy either.

>For example I've done the steps to decrypt game assets from the console, as the first pic related stated on

Protip: You don't have to FTP shit. It's enough to select the decrypted files and copy paste them to another folder on the Vita, then USB. The reason it tells you not to FTP is because "open decrypted" is a temporary thing that does not persist if you try to do something else, like starting USB transfer mode.

>i have zero idea how I'm supposed to read the hex so this should tell you my level of inexperience

Basically, if you open a file in a hex editor and it's complete gibberish without rhyme or reason, it's encrypted. Decrypted files have a more orderly look to them, I guess easiest way to compare would be to grab some live area title pic and compare how it looks inside a hex editor decrypted vs. encrypted and you'll get an idea. This step is just tot confirm that it actually did decrypt it. If you do it with a decrypted eboot.bin like in the example, the file will start with SCE vs. complete gibberish on an encrypted eboot.bin.

Of course it's entirely possible that even after decrypting it with Vitashell the decrypted files themselves might have their own encryption internally. So generally it helps if you have some more experience with different file types, compression algorithms, etc.

There's a tool for extracting psarc files for the PS3 iirc, it also works on Vita. As for pfs, who knows. Sometimes half the work is finding someone who can figure out how to extract assets from proprietary file formats like these and repackage them.

I have to look more into the matter and ask help around how to extract those files (I just found a psarc extractor on filetrip), switch the pics I want to modify, and then compress back to its original format/filename so it could be used with the RePatch plugin.

I never finished a VN on PC, for some reason it bore the fuck out to read this on a PC screen. I imagine the restoration fixes could eventually help some japs out there too (if I understood correctly, Repatch does work on legit copies of the VNs).

Also FullKiss for example has console exclusive content with an additional route (the loli sister of one of the romanceable girls).

2c86e5  No.16477326

The file hierarchy and data format is game-dependent, but often games based on the same engine will be similar or identical, and ports from other platforms may also use the same format for data, but may cut down textures and such for handheld's weaker specs. Unfortunately it is game-dependent and some games use exotic compression or additional encryption for their main data files. Additionally Vita's encryption is layered on top of that. If you need to find information about this you'll probably have to search engine other communities, and additionally look for related games, like I believe the same unpacker works with all the Re;birth games for example. Do those VNs use a shared platform?

>>16475192

It's a bit different for console VN ports. They take lewd out but typically compensate for it with additional content, and portability is always a strong point for VNs. You could also make the same argument "just play the Switch version". Options and fan patches are never a bad thing.

After rtfm'ing, you use something called nopaystation. There isn't every vita game on it, but most North American releases should be good.

It is a sweet game, I would even go as far as calling it a healing game, at least from the two routes I've finished so far.

Don't take my word for it but according to a friend, you don't need the Dream Club DLC's at all as supposedly they unlock ingame as you earn trophies. At least he said that about the DLC characters.

As for the game itself, I've been enjoying it immensely. It's really fun and addicting, the girls are really cute and it has fun dialog. You talk with various hostesses in a club that only admits those pure of heart and you try to get yourself and the girl drunk (but not too drunk). Includes drunken slurring and singing, tsunderes melting under the influence and calm and pure girls suddenly getting rowdy. This not being a school setting helps the writing and general interactions a lot. It's a shame pretty much nobody in the English speaking sphere is even aware this game exists, including me before I stumbled upon it by pure chance. Not as beginner friendly as Recolove though. There is no text backlog and some conversations can get a bit more complicated but I'd still rate it good as studying material.

Well it's pushed me to play beyond the tutorial and it's clearly rooted in Senran Kagura in terms of engine, but initial impressions are I'm liking it a lot more. Fewer enemies with much meatier-feeling combat, using the environment more, lack of level-up system, predominantly male cast yet still allowing plenty of fanservice and typical dress-up features. Still having a hard time writing the description so I may or may not delay new thread to try for that. Also for those unaware, UPPERS has an official localization on PS4 and PC. Vita will have to do with the unofficial translation, but I question it a bit. I've seen an issue with music dropping out followed by quitting and console soft-lock on getting to the "power off" screen, and after doing a mission with new playables, a C1-11843-7 error, but loading my save is still fine.

I've probably said it before, but the 3DS senran kagura games are a lot better, for one they play like a typical 2.5D beat em up ala streets of rage/captain commando instead of a musou clone (at least burst does, i've yet to play 2 because i can't find the DLC in cia format for the US version), and the story isn't as lighthearted as shinovi/estival versus, the very intro talks about how ninja schools/clans used to murder themselves until only one was left, the girls actually want to kill each other and demons/youma, the very thing these ninja clans were made for, actually show up, no yumi worshiping either. I've only made it halfway through shinovi versus but i don't really feel like finishing the game and i already forgot the plot, so i may start over after i finish this one proper ninja game i'm busy with: ninja gaiden sigma plus.

>UPPERS has an official localization on PS4 and PC. Vita will have to do with the unofficial translation

You honestly don't need the translation for anything but girl requests (and even then about 5 of those were left untranslated), i already told you how shitty the story was, in fact i'd say you're better off playing it on japanese.

>I've seen an issue with music dropping out followed by quitting and console soft-lock on getting to the "power off" screen, and after doing a mission with new playables, a C1-11843-7 error, but loading my save is still fine

I had no issues with the game, HOWEVER it did refuse to boot until i deleted the subbed intro from the patch files, try doing the same, it may fix it.

Spent a good 5 hours trying out "Legends of War: Patton". I'm a big strategyfag, so I thought to test it out. Ended up to be a mediocre 3rd person turn-based game with terrible camera controls. It was originally on the PSP and it shows, the graphics look it and the enviroments are tiny. Honestly not that fun, not anything work adding to the pasta. I plan on playing NyperNoir for serious and possibly doing a recommendation on that.

I get it, but other nip games do get mentioned at least sometimes. Maybe they'll consider porting it to PC and translating it, with how things went down with Sony I wouldn't be surprised, plus D3 Publisher doesn't seem to be scared of the west which is a plus. Shouldn't be too hard since there's an Xbox 360 and PS4 version (not a fully fledged game) already.

Hyperdevotion is just in a genre that's not really clicked with me and I've never played other games of its type, but given >>16435294 speaks well enough of it I'm not against adding it, other opinions welcome. From what I have played, you will want to speed up animations, and like most Neptunia games you can skip some of them too. Otherwise the pace will be slow. It's also one of the harder games, expect a pretty significant jump around Lid. If it is added it's getting the Japanese cover.

2c86e5  No.16497696

Whatever was bugging out before I can't say since I marathonned like 3-4 chapters of UPPERS without any glitches, outside of some iffy translation and typos, and text exiting the edges of windows on ocasion. Big difficulty spike when you get to play as that one assassin jerk who gets bodied immediately if you haven't mastered dodging, which it's the first place you really need to have it. Overall though it's grabbing me much more than any Senran Kagura game, and I suspect in part just because even though it's based on SK, combat feels closer to Akiba's Trip. As bad as the overall story apparently is I'm at least liking the silly interactions between the men.

Also news needed that isn't "Hurry up and downgrade if you haven't" I'm drawing a blank. Delaying thread creation shortly before this is off.

I don't think Helldivers works with reF00D. I tried to download it, but trying to open it and install it just yielded an error. C1-6703-6. After looking it up, I found that it's the error associated with running a game that requires higher firmware(I think). Anyone else run into this situation before?

I was gonna go with a Matrix reference but sure, lolis. Mirai, Rom/Ram (ironically I know), what are other ones?

>>16497899

That game shouldn't even have issues with how old it is unless it got patched late in life. Can you test if any other later firmware games work with rePatch disabled (just to prevent issues if compatibility packs were ever used). If not, make sure the install steps were followed carefully, but also that it's ref00d not refood (my error). Finally https://github.com/dots-tb/reF00D#troubleshooting

If so, I don't know if general corruption issues can cause that error, it may have to be re-installed.

>it is unless it got patched late in life.

It has been patched over time, but according to pkgi, the latest patch requires 3.68. I don't know if that would be a problem, but this is the first time I've encountered this error.

I didn't use compatibility packs, and I'm positive the plugin is installed fine. I've been using it for a while now. I guess I can try reinstalling it. Takes a bit of time at 3GB+.
