>during the investors’ Q&A Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa was asked why isn’t there any concrete plans for Nintendo 3DS in this fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, even though the 3DS is still being supported.
>Furukawa says that the Nintendo 3DS is an entry-level model with “stable demand” from consumers, so there is no reason to discontinue it at this time. He also added that later this year, Nintendo will bring more games that appeared on portable/handheld consoles in the past to Nintendo Switch. Consumers who are interested in these games, whether they have a 3DS or not, will eventually make the switch to Switch to play them.
Do you think they'll just make games that are also on 3DS, ported from the 3DS to the Switch, or do you think they're specifically talking about handheld exclusive franchises like Pokemon and Dillion, and bringing them to the Switch.

You mean like TWEWY? This could mean that the Switch is getting games from GB to 3DS and everything in between. Who knows, they might even port over the 3DS version of Pokemon Red/Blue/Silver/Gold and make it compatible with Sword/Shield.

Pretty sure the expanded lifetime is due to 3DS having digital downloads for full games unlike the DS and GBA. Unlike past systems you can still buy half the library digitally. That said give it next console generation and 3DS production will end.

The PS2 was selling even a few years after the PS4 came out, are you gonna be pissed at Sony for not supporting it all that time? If they supported 3DS, Switch owners would be pissed about not getting those games too. It's a balancing act and of course they're gonna support the new device with fewer games on it.

Do what other single screen dungeon crawlers do; mini map with adjustable size and button to toggle fullscreen editing.
Alternatively they can just use the Ages port of Phantasy Star as a base and allow touch screen mapping

There have been games released on Switch that only worked in handheld mode because it required the touch screen. I know VOEZ was like this before they added support for TV play and controllers.
I could see it end up where map drawing is supported in mobile mode via touch screen, but if you're on the TV you have some obnoxious bullshit way to draw with the joycons. Then again, you can use the gyros in the joycons to emulate a mouse pointer, you could draw on the screen with motion controls too.
f4a8a2 No.16411732
>>16411706
Deticate the entire second analog stick to map drawing in console mode. You have two extra shoulder buttons and clickies. Or use the motion pointer with split joycon. Alternatively redesign the gameplay to make use of utility skills like tracking and auto-map drawing.

They didn't bother redrawing the minor NPCs so they just got smoothed out. A bigger problem is the changed gameplay >implying politics and graphics aren't the most important part of any game t. /v/.
Switch doesn't have two screens so you control Blue Boy with either the shitty gyro pointer that constantly drifts or goes off-center or the baby-mode touch controls (this is a port of the mobile port as usual for Squeenix). Your partner is either an extra attack you call in (I think) or another pointer held either by Player 2 or an absolute madman using both at once. This ruins the whole "asymmetrical dimensions" thing the original had and makes some bosses extremely confusing. TWEWY was designed for DS so concessions had to be made to port it.

My 3DS XL died today. I was screaming when it happened. A barely caught it with my arm at a weird angle and I couldn't get a firm grip and it slipped through my fingers. The fall was lethal because it already had a cracked right hinge so the top screen got flipped around to an unnatural angle and the now it's apparently completely fucked because the screen is black all the time, and replacing these things costs as much as buying a used system so it's pretty fucking gay. One of my shittier days.
And the my main point is, why should I buy Nintendo's shit when it's always cheaply made. Every DS and 3DS I've ever owned had this infuriating problem with the fucking hinge cracking. It's like Nintenjew including in the specifications that the hinge will crack after being opened and shut X number of times. They do this shit on purpose. I'm convinced it's deliberately designed to be garbage. Reminds me of the same quality as those cheap Chinese headsets that break every 2 years.

There's a bunch of 3DS games I'd like to see re-released/remastered. An Etrian Collection would be godly, especially if it included Etrian Mystery Dungeon. A Bravely twin-pack would also be welcome, especially if they uncucked it. And if they re-released Fire Emblem Echoes and gave it a chance instead of just sending it out to die that would be pretty great too, considering it was far and away the least pozzed of the 3DS FE games (although they did manage to fuck up some of the translation, because of course they did).

Expect some kind of fire emblem collection or Mario 3D Land remaster to come out at a discounted price. The trend with kids, and the parents of said kids, is like basically I've seen no 3DSes. It's all been switch. I don't care what other people do, but it's pretty clear that Nintendo is keeping the 3DS around for similar reasons that this anon said >>16411584.
