You buy games, get rewards points, and then spend those points for Physical goods which can't be pirated or discounts on other games. Maybe it could even partner with other online platforms like twitch, (spending money on games grants you cheers or bits or whateverthefuck) amazon (rewards points), or even fucking gamestop (get vouchers for in store accessories).
No DRM is required and there's an actual incentive not to pirate. If it doesn't make as many shekels just have the rewards system not apply to games on sale, therefore incentivizing purchasing at full price.

I imagine the platform mainly as storefront and download manager but it would allow you the ability to download a portable .zip version of the game with no DRM attached. Then you could simply burn it onto a disc or put it on a USB drive.
Maybe there could be an option to recieve physical copy instead of reward points (on qualifying orders above XX dollars), so the platform wouldn't lose as much money.

as a Fugtorio expat I can confirm that upon reviewing of one of their available footage via indirect access to jewtube that during the first 5 minutes I can see that the idiotic developers made the first mistake of not adding a top down camera view function which is highly needed in order to see how much spaces your machines takes, how many is available and the most important of them all being able to see your machine layout at all times. From the footage the player jumps around like a rabbit to inspect his machines which for me is incomprehensible why this developer thought that this is a good idea. And he made the second major mistake by giving the player the freedom to stack the machines vertically it makes it much more complicated than it should be to see the overall layout, there is some few good ideas in this game but the execution is awfully done. I think the developer didn't had the thought at all why the Factorio devs used 2D perspective, it has some disadvances for such a game which can be offset with 3D rendering which does has a advance over 2D which many people don't know, one of the advances is that it would be much more easier to have variants of the same machine. Of course you can do the same with 2D but it would requires so many sprite sheet to do it properly and it would increase the loading times even more as Factorio has already the problem with long loading times due to poor choice of image formats which is a full 16-32 bit (I think?) PNG color that consumes much more graphic card memory then it should be. Older games have shorter loading times because they were much more concerned with limited hardware power, granted the Factorio devs does spend a lot of time which I can only applaus with optimization which makes the game still run quite well more or less when the player managed to build a megabase. So to enjoy Factorio even better it leaves the player no other option left than to buy a SSD which whose new storage type I am hardly familiar with, so the in ital cost of buying the game is actually a bit more than the 30 American dollars if you want to factor that too (loading times).
So in all overall I think the Satisfactory dev missed quite a lot of points over the design choices of Factorio. Being a type of the soyus vulgus doesn't help this developer current position anymore and harms him much more than he his aware of with his soyified brain. Instead of focusing of delivering quality product the developer has no better thing to do then to participate in this global national sports of outrage culture. Which is quite interesting to observe this stark contrast between the average western developer and eastern european developers. In overall Factorio has several qualities of a good game such as modding support out of the box, DRM free and engine optimizations. Which makes me wonder if Satisfactory even comes close to these qualities it tries to imitate.

But Satan (love your work, btw), why would they risk the long-term reputation of their studio for the chance to maybe not flop on a single game? Obsidian I can kind of understand, because MS owns them now and their future is secure - although bleak. But studios like Pheonix Point are fucking themselves long term right out of the gate. If Epic stops giving out bags of money and they have to go back to the customer, hat in hand, and ask them to buy future games from them - wouldn't that just make the next game of theirs all the more likely to flop? Yeah they should have done something like Total Annihilation with the graphics which is best of the both worlds, 2D for terrains, shrubberies and other such things and the rest 3D which should be optimally in low-mid polygon range. The original crash happened because the market was oversaturated with trash and people could not tell what was good or bad. It's important to remember that while most anons here believe that to already be the case with the industry, normalfags eat shit up, especially Sony's and Bethesda's games/cinematic experiences. I doubt a crash based on quality is possible because of how low standards are as it is. The only realistic crash I can see is normalfags simply getting bored of vidya. It's becoming increasingly cinematic, maybe when it crosses some invisible threshold, normalfags will not understand the point of dropping $60 on a game when they could buy three movie tickets plus popcorn for that price.
More likely, however, would be that streaming will take off, normalfags praising it because muh graphics and all the other shill arguments, especially if it follows Netflix pricing. Most would follow the money. This would be a great time for GoG to take a hardline no-streaming stance, considering that streaming is the ultimate form of DRM. Those devs left afterwards would largely be hobbyists, and it would be a more modern take of the 80s home computer scene. God only knows, however.

They still sold damn well. The crash is a financial thing. If the dev studios are folding, that's when it's crashing. People not being very excited for something after it came out is unfortunately meaningless.
On the other hand, studios have been laying off staff lately so that's been a very good sign. But Nintendo's doing phenomenally, Microsoft is acquiring studios, Google is entering the market and Tencent is ever-increasing its importance. So I'm not sure if it really matters until someone big fails, on a massive, unrecoverable sale. Laugh all you want about Fallout 76, people still keep buying Skyrim remasters. Laugh all you want at EA's numerous failures, they could flip the switch and go full-mobile overnight and do well for themselves, reskinning sports games for decades. We need something big, and Sony is the most likely contender. However, even Sony is doing well with the PS4.
