There have always been bad mods, though. I remember some from the early 2000s, when the internet wasn't as nearly as popular with normalfags. I look at it this way: the chance per server hasn't changed, the same number of people are fucked up now, as were back then, what has changed is the number of servers and number of online games - you're going to be subject to more bullshit, and you're going to hear about more bullshit happening to other people.
