If they do the same thing as last gen, launch at $400 - unless microsoft undercuts them at 300, they'll easily win the generation. Good to see PC fats are BTFO again as physical media continues. Raytracing unfortunately provides an excuse to keep 60fps as exclusive for 2D and 3D fast paced action games, hopefully it's not featured prominently. Backwards compatibility, if done well with things like a boost mode that truly pushes games to 60fps would be excellent but having it at the very least is nice. Since it's backwards compatible already there may not be any need for a PS5 version of something like death stranding as the PS4 version will play on both, and if need be higher resolution assets could simply be downloaded.

Because console games ported to PC are made with consoles in mind? some games never get PC ports untill years later where some company fucks everything up, no mod tools or further support its just there. I decided to check, literally every game of note besides Bloodborne is available on PC as well, making them not exclusives. But there are a few games that are PS4 only.
The Order 1886, Knack, Knack 2, Until Dawn, a handful of VR Shovelware 20 dollar tech demos, and Detroit.
Absolutely none of those are worth the hundreds of dollars to buy a PS4, and I have a good inkling there'll be no launch PS5 titles that either won't be coming to PC or the PS4 worth shelling out a suspected 500 dollars for.

Just chiming in to say that Kojima only worked as executive producer for ZOE.
Konami and his massive ego basically worked together to pretend like he was the main creative force behind the games and it always pissed me off to see people believe that, even though you can easily tell ZOE is very different from Kojima's design and writing quirks.
They're also fast-paced action-games, something that Kojima himself admitted he's incapable of doing, which is why Platinum took the reigns for Rising and why Kojima's MG games became increasingly slower and cutscene/story-oriented, culminating in Death Stranding shaping up to be one of those awful interactive-movie/walking-simulator type games

Fifth gen gave rise to one of my favorite genres, being 3D platformers. However, 2D ones didn't die. Fifth gen also was a great time for experimental games, just like Third gen was as well, with the NES mainly, but also 8-bit home computers at the time. RPGs, as well. While the popular fourth gen series did go to shit at this time, plenty of new ones were born. Sixth gen then proceeded to kill both, as well as puzzle games that weren't named "Puyo Puyo" and "Tetris" and anything even remotely experimental. and RPGs? Fucking dead, never to recover.
The three main consoles from the Fifth gen are worth owning because they have plenty of damn good games. I cannot say that about a single one of the Sixth gen consoles.

And while there was a lot of great experimentation in fifth gen, most of the dirty shit from sixth gen on originated in some part from fifth gen. I doubt that narrative focused games would be as popular as they are now if it wasn't for the influence of games like OoT.
