Summer is great for hot gamenights, because everyone's stirred up. I think even Jack nights are better during the burning times. A lot of anons are either peaking right now or about to crest. I quite can't wait for this summer.

Anyways as for the topic, for whatever reason I distinctly remember sitting in my underwear with like 3 fans pointed at me one summer sweating like a greasy pig while I played tons of PS2 games, mostly San Andreas and Battlefront II. I also remember the intoxicating aroma of the hot coals in the grill wafting in through my window while I played MK Armageddon and Soul Calibur III on several occasions. Basically the PS2 in general makes me feel summery.

Last one I played just for the snow sometimes, I think I leaned towards Hoth and Rhen Var in SWBF for a while because of that too. I think sometimes I would play desert themed levels too, but I can't think of any games I did that with

The past several years, we had snow for Easter but not Christmas. This year, we had snow for Christmas and I was joking about it also snowing during Easter. Doesn't seem like it'll be a joke anymore.

Anyway, Animal Crossing is the first game that comes to mind when I think of Summer. I'm not sure why, it's a game with all the seasons but I can't really think of any summery games except for DoA Extreme Beach Volleyball and Olympic/Summer sports games.

I've always lived in well air conditioned homes, so summer heat never really bothered me too much. However, when I think of playing vidya in summer I think of GTA for some reason. 3, Vice City, and San Andreas mostly.

Splatoon is a fun summer vidya precisely because it's always summertime in Inkopolis.

Every stage in the game takes place while it's bright and sunny out and the splatfests resemble those really muggy summer nights where it was so hot during the day that the heat lingers after sunset. It just gives me happy memories of summer because there's swimming, there's shopping, there's food trucks (in the second game), and lots of hustle and bustle around a downtown metro area. It very much captures the feeling of summer no matter what the time of year.

I really love the Bloodmoon part of Morrowind for getting into the cool mindset. Wish it was bigger, though. Still, traveling through a blizzard until you run into some drunk Nords in a covy house is top-tier comfy.

Also, replaying the WC3 campaign is good as well; traveling to Northrend fits perfectly. Plus there's still multiplayer going on with w3arena and eurobattle servers, so no need to deal with (((blizz))) if you wanna play online.

Splatoon seems so goddamn good, being the most original shooter in over a decade, and it fucking saddens me I can't play it without spewing.

Some options to change the FOV and shit to avoid motion sickness would be amazing. Hopefully some indie devs make a spiritual successor/rip-off for PC at some point.

I used to ride my bike over to my friend's house and play Brave Fencer Musashi and Legend Of Legaia while it was 114 degrees outside and we were all hooked on vidya and pokemon cards in fuggen '96. Later on I remember summers where I got into Wulfram 2 which was the best tank vs tank game I've ever played, then into DOTA.

I love playing Hotline Miami during the summer months. Really gets you in the feel when it's 85 degrees Celsius and humidity of 90% and your computer sounds like it's gearing up for takeoff.

I dont mind it though. I have a thick skin.
