Wanted to do a meta thread since we haven't had one in a while. My apologies about this, I was busy with a ton of shit during the past couple of months. To my understanding things have basically been the same. However there's a few things I want to go over.
I really want more anons to report people who derail video games threads with political autism. Mainly because I've noticed too many people complaining about the over obsession of political autism coming from both side of /leftypol/ and /pol/. Like I don't care if you guys have some personal issue with the Jews or Nazis or whatever, that's none of our business. All I ask is that you keep things video games and video games related. How you feel about the current political climate is none of our business.
We've been taking care of ＪＵＩＣＹ ＢＯＩ and any other spam that comes across our way. That said the spammers can also be a bunch of slippery bastards at times and I'd like people to report said spam if they see it.
If at all something video games related is baiting politics like the Wolfenstien games or some "industry" cunts like the ResetERA people, Zoey Quinn, Rami, Tim Schafer, etc. begging for people to be fired for their different opinions, then that's something entirely different. I'd like for the dirt to be uncovered on these maliciously corrupt bastards.
While this is a personal note and doesn't affect any upcoming policies or anything in the near future. I'd like to express my disappointment with the GamerGate threads due to lack of planning action against ResetERA, The Games Press and the corrupt parts of the "Industry". I will not be doing anything to these threads due to their significance to the board as a whole, and because I think they work well as a sort of video game related drama of the week thread. Although I personally would like to see more action taken against these corrupt groups due to the fact that they're a legitimate thread to video games as a whole.
Other than that there haven't been any issues, and I would like to thank everyone that continues using the board despite our recent issues. Additionally I'd like to send a special thanks to the Australians and the kiwi's for sticking with us, despite the petty politics.

First of all, video games were designed as an escape. That is what they are, first and foremost. Most types of fictional media are designed with escapism in mind. Some escapism is in fact healthy, because one must periodically clear their mind of stressful thoughts to maintain mental health. Bringing the rest of reality into the discussion simply because it has an indirect impact on the industry defeats the purpose of the escape.
Second, there is no way to take a one-and-done or even a forty post autist seriously when they bark orders like "do pull ups and move innawoods already" when they have the time and internet available to make those posts to begin with. Furthermore, you can't make a person do these things, they have to want to do them; it's the only way. So naturally it makes more sense to keep that sort of thing in the board where it belongs (/pol/ in this example) and allow the user to go there themselves, when they want to.
Third, there is a proven history of Stormfront faggots recruiting from these boards going all the way back to halfchan because they know they are filled with frustrated young white men, and that sort of heavy-handed "recruitment" reminds me of that every time it happens. Even though I consider myself fairly aware of what's going on in the world, the last thing I want is to be a part of a group lile that, because they wallow in their own shitty Rust Belt lives and usually scorn you if you are smarter than them or try to get ahead. It's an unfortunate truth of hanging out with groups or organizations of people that are ignorant or come from poor backgrounds that I am all too familiar with. They simply care too much about the group because they have no self-worth due to their background.
