Good monsters would, in turn, if aware of a lazarus, would usually attempt to bait by spreading damage and corpse-baiting/camping. Lazarus couldn't heal very well and, to be effective, had to let his teammates die. This was actually key to intended play- indeed, such was annoying to a monster, but versed players would, again, attempt to predict where Laz was heading, look for his shoes, and spam sniff. Then it was just a matter of pouncing him.
Evolve was a game about extreme prediction, the same way a rocket in Quake must be predicted on where your enemy WILL be, rather than where he IS.

Hunter team has no medic (because lol laz) so even a stage 1 babbie monster could focus the trapper down with ease and fuck off til he has stage 3, at which point if you have even the remotest clue what you're doing as monster it's GG EZ (especially, again, because the enemy team has no medic because lol Laz).
Laz was the antithesis of the hunt game mode, the core game mode. It was pointless to even try to hunt the monster if he was on your team. I must have played hundreds of games as monster and never lost to a Laz team once.

The whole point of ASSFAGGOTS is to kill the other team's "ancient" (basically a base building that doesn't do anything), if you destroy it your team wins. In order to be able to attack the ancient you must first get through 4 tiers of towers. 3 in each lane and then 2 directly in front of the ancient itself.
If you had a hero that had zero offensive capabilities but had the ability to be invisible and to rebuild towers, you'd basically do nothing to help your team and could probably keep the game going infinitely. You'd be the antithesis of the game.

Hunt wasn't the core gamemode though. The Evac mode was. What you're describing is the problem with matchmakers as a whole: You're throwing experienced players in with bumbling first-timers, and the first weakest link drags the whole team down. This is why the game should of had a server browser, or did away with matchmaking entirely; Custom games existed, but you had to invite people into your party for that if I recall correctly.

If I have to explain to you why any of those game modes were shit then you have brain problems, but ok.
Nest was shit because if the hunters had Bucket on their team, they'd win. The entire mode should have just been called "Bucket's revenge". Team splits in 2, bucket goes off on his own and the other 3 do the same, or maybe 2 2s, doesn't really matter as long as the assault isn't with Bucket.
Bucket runs to an egg, drops turrets then immediately starts running to next egg. By the time he gets there the previous egg will be dead. Meanwhile the other 3 are also killing eggs. If monster goes for Bucket he can cloak and fuck off, even if monster is good and gets a pounce, during the time he is wasting doing this the other hunters are killing eggs. If monster goes for other 3 hunters, Bucket is killing eggs. If monster tries to hatch an egg, split team is MASSACRING eggs. Doing this made it so the monster absolutely could not keep up. Only game mode Bucket was ever good in, and like Laz in hunt, he broke the whole thing.
Rescue was shit because monster could just rush the first survivors while the hunters are busy dropping, get a bunch of free food then hit stage 2 by the time the other rescue targets have popped. Monster wouldn't have to fight in domes, he could just nuke the immobile, relatively squishy targets then wait the dome out.
Laz might have actually been good in the mode, if it weren't so easy for monster to get stage 2 and proceed to shit on the medic-less gimp team and dead survivors would still take strikes.

That said, I wanted something way different to what was offered though to be fair. A PvE Hunting game either like Monster Hunter or a much more extreme Deer Hunter style game. I jumped the gun thinking this was going to be the niche game I was waiting for, but it was just more multiplayer shit. I learned my lesson at least after that.
