I don't think it counts as "lesser known", but the Initial D games are certainly dead in the west. There hasn't even been a console port since the early PS3. Granted, I don't know how badly I'd even want to see a consumer port, since they'd probably dump it on the SoyStation4, but I'd betray my principles and rent it on Steam if they actually went and released it properly.

If I was an independent developer I would make a good sequel or remake for a somewhat obscure to fully obscure SEGA game, tell them about it halfway through, then wait for them to say "okay cool and this plays good too you got it kid" because that's essentially what's happened with Wonder Boy and Sonic except Sonic is the opposite of obscure and they let a nobody rom hacker make an official Sonic game. I mean seriously SEGA obviously doesn't give a single fuck to hoard their shit they'll let anyone make one of their games on their own and officially license it why the fuck aren't more people trying to get in on this? oh yeah also streets of rage 4

Not a Sega property per se, but I loved Evolution 1 and 2 which were exclusive to Dreamcast. I loved their dopey, Wild Arms-esque visuals and comfy atmosphere, felt like Saturn games with higher-poly character models.
